  • It just so happens that our anniversary and Fathers Day are on the same weekend every year. We didn’t plan it this way intentionally, but it’s no coincidence because our Dads are the ones who brought us together. Long story short, our Dads were buddies in college. When my husband was young, his family moved to Arizona, so I never knew him growing up. Our dads re-connected later in life and it wasn’t until I was 19 that I realized my dads friend had a very good looking son. 😏I went to Arizona for a tennis tournament and I reached out to Justin on Facebook to see if he wanted to show me around since it was my first time in Arizona. He took me out to get sushi and after our first date I called my mom & told her I was going to marry this man someday. Flash forward and here we are. Married for 7 years.  At our wedding we had the dads come up to help cut the cake and we surprised them (and everyone else) by smashing the cake in their faces instead of each other’s. 😂 Justin is the most hard working man, and best father to our children that I could ever ask for. But all the credit goes to our dads, for raising us to know & love Jesus, which prepared us for marriage. Because marriage is about sacrifice, daily forgiveness, and putting each other first. I love you, Justin, and I love our amazing Dads. Happy Anniversary & Happy Fathers Day! 💕

And to Mr H, you’ll hate this because it’s soppy but you are my rock. Sometimes I wish you were @therock, but you’re pretty damn close. Thanks for my two little best friends, you did the easy bit at the beginning 🍆 but my goodness are you making up for it now, and thanks for being my chief taste tester, a role you sure don’t take lightly. I'll update you once I make something with it but if you've been following along at home, you know I love chickpea flour. But I've never heard of carrot powder! Swipe for ingredients and nutritional info—look at all that vitamin b!!!!! These are #soyfree, #nutfree, and I think more or less #glutenfree but not certified (so use your best judgement based on your personal tolerance). #eggcitables #veganeggs

After only a couple of weeks of eating clean, and struggling to avoid eating my favorite "unclean" foods, my body started feeling different - it started feeling much better!⁣
⁣
In time, my cravings sloooooowly started to disappear.⁣
⁣
More time passed and I realized I no longer WANTED to eat the foods I previously loved and craved...⁣
⁣
after all, they made me feel terrible.⁣
⁣
Physically and emotionally.⁣
⁣
Eating clean then became SO much easier.⁣
⁣
I still think it's crazy I can sit with and watch family and friends eat anything and not feel tempted to eat it...because I honestly do not want to eat it.⁣
⁣
If I hadn't lost my health and hit my rock bottom, I'm not sure I would have made the transition.⁣
⁣
So, I have to give a shout out to, and thank my autoimmune disease for that😜.⁣
⁣
If you're wondering what "eating clean" looks like for me, I eat according to the autoimmune protocol (AIP), but "eating clean" can look like just focusing on eating any REAL foods that do not have additives, preservatives, added sugars, artificial sweeteners, fake sauces, and avoiding unhealthy snacks and desserts, fast food, etc.⁣

Disclaimer:  When I started eating clean 100% of the time, I actually temporarily felt worse (physically and emotionally) before I felt better.  Emotionally because I had years of using emotional eating as a coping mechanism to break.⁣

Two questions for you ...⁣

How long did it take you to no longer want foods that were bad for you/for cravings to go away??⁣
⁣
What advice do you have for someone just starting to eat clean who is battling all kinds of cravings??

  • Food for a new week. I didn't prep everything, just enough to make assembling full meals easier. I'll be making waffles fresh tomorrow morning, because without an early lab session there's enough time, and defrosting and roasting protein throughout the week. The details for today's prep: - nomato chicken curry with *garden peas and spinach
- sweet potato, courgette, and onion for roasting later
- apple gummies with cinnamon and ginger
- roasted broccoli
- acid soaked, rinsed, and steamed *quinoa
- soaked, sprouted, steamed, and roasted *chickpeas
- sardine spread
- *walnut butter with sea salt and cinnamon

I hadn't made any nut or seed butter since I left Amsterdam, but with my food processor sitting here since my parents' visit I had no excuse not to. So I finally had a go with the better part of a big bag of *walnuts, misjudging the quantity so I ended up filling two jars. And in an attempt to eat more sardines I also whizzed up half a giant avocado with a small tin of sardines and lots of lemon juice, to have another thing to spread on waffles or *rice crackers next week.

Ingredientes : .
- 2 manojos de hojas de albahaca
- 1 manojo de espinaca, yo use las de @corporacionquifoods - 1 taza de agua hervida
- 1 mano de almendras
- 1 porción de queso de tarwi de @como.servegetariano (200 gr aproximadamente)
- Sal de maras al gusto
- 1 pizca de Pimienta Nuez moscada - 1 pizca de cúrcuma
- 1 pizca de Aceite de oliva (cantidad necesaria. o 1/2 taza)
- 1 diente de ajo triturado y cebolla para sofreír
- Tallarines (yo uso los de @pastaeldorado porque sus precios me parecen buenos para una pasta sin gluten y hecho de quinoa -> 10 soles y te rinde para 5 porciones, ademas tienen proteína) pero pueden usar cualquier otro más económico.

Preparación:
1️⃣ Colocar todo en una licuadora menos el ajo y cebolla, licuar 
2️⃣ En una ollita o sartén aparte, sofreírla el ajo y cebolla y cuando ya estén transparentes la cebolla, agregar la mezcla a la licuadora, licuar todo para tener una mezcla homogénea y luego llevar la crema a una olla o sartén para hervir. Mover con una cuchara de palo hasta el primer hervor.
3️⃣ En una olla aparte, hervir abundante agua y cuando este hirviendo, agregar los fideos y revisar a los 10 minutos. Apagar cuando estén al dente o como les guste. 
4️⃣ A servir y disfrutar! agregar la salsa a los tallarines! Las proteínas ya se encuentran en el queso de tarwi!
