SHINE BRIGHT
This heart found it’s way from Johns Creek, Georgia to Marble Mountain just outside of Da Nang, Vietnam!
When I create clay hearts, I don’t envision where they will land, I just go with my gut and my heart and on this Sunday afternoon, Shine Bright ended up on this Happy Buddha!
The mountain is a cluster of five limestone and marble hills named for the five elements-water, wood, fire, metal, and earth.
According to ancient folklore, a dragon emerged from the water on Non Nuoc Beach and laid an egg. A thousand days and a thousand nights followed before the egg hatched, and out stepped a beautiful girl. The fragments of the shell were left on the beach and eventually grew into the five mystical Marble Mountains.
Be Happy and Shine Bright no matter where you are!

  • I started a gofundme for a serger machine
I got tired of sitting around watching everyone chase their dreams and being envious that they had the courage to actually pursue them, so I’ve decided to make a change. I want to do some kind of clothing line, or do commissions, or anything business wise pertaining to sewing. I spent all my life being told I would never succeed in any of my dreams and being constantly pushed down and held back by my family, I want to be better and do better and I want to go back to fashion school as well. I suffer from sever PTSD due to familial trauma that really causes me to just shell myself over and not even try anything that could possibly help me succeed, and I want to break that wall and overcome that barrier so that I can push for my full potential. I’ve always been an artist but now I’m wanting to push myself to be bigger and better!
I need some of your help the link is in my bio.
If you cannot donate just share please? this is all I ask. I appreciate it so very much

  • California has the highest percentage of unsheltered homeless individuals in the country, at slightly under 70 percent. Homeless families with children are living on the streets, parks, or other places not meant for human habitation. Including chronically homeless individuals that are marked by serious mental or physical illnesses. •Let’s make a difference in this world and love on people that they may encounter God’s love through us. •A good place to start volunteering is at your local church. If your congregation doesn’t have a homeless ministry, find a reputable organization in your city and invite your church members to join you and your family in serving. • For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. • Matthew 25:35, NIV

  • I’ve really been missing doing hair and makeup lately. It’s crazy how something that your passionate about can be put on the back burner because of certain life events. As much as I loved my college I felt let down by certain educators. Then cosmetology school wasn’t the smoothest ride to say the least. Then came the day my dad passed and I took a step back and looked at what I really wanted out of life. It’s been a few years now but it’s safe to say I’m ready to dip my toes back into this passion. Here’s a few pictures of my favorite projects and get ready for new future projects 🖤 #showlove #spreadlove #compassionateliving #cosmetologist #hair #makeup #wigs #wigmaker #wigdesign

  • It’s WEEK 3 of SEXUAL ABUSE AWARENESS & PREVENTION month. If you are just joining in the conversation, please feel free to look back on my week 1 and week 2 posts about my coming out as a child sexual abuse survivor.

This week, I thought I would share a few of the tools that have really helped me heal in the past 5 years.

THERAPY: I have an interesting story for you all when it comes to therapy. Back in 2014, I scheduled a family therapy session to help us on our healing journey. After an hour of speaking with the professional we hired, she asked me three questions: “Do you have trouble eating? Do you have trouble sleeping at night? Are you uncomfortable when interacting with men?” to which I answered a very solid: “No”. She then concluded she did not need to see me again and that was that.
Hen?! Hold on! (record scratch) 🤨 That is correct: I walked out of that therapy session and was convinced I did not need therapy. After all, a therapist had just told me so. It’s only in 2017 I revisited the idea that I may need professional help (“Duh!” would say @taylorjjames and probably all of you reading). I found a wonderful therapist to open up to about my past trauma, my doubts and fears, as well as my moments of depression, and my unhealthy patterns with men/dating. Talk about stirring SHIT up! Old shit, new shit! Was it uncomfortable? YES. Was it absolutely needed for me to properly heal? HELL YES!

JOURNALING: It became a very helpful tool that I paired up with my therapy sessions. I took the time to write down all my feelings and learned how to better identify what I was going through. I gave myself permission to feel all the feelings without judgement or urges to camouflage it all. From loneliness, to sadness, to embarrassment, I acknowledged it all on paper and it helped me accept it and understand it better in real life.

MEDITATION: there are so many ways to go about meditating. When it came to my healing journey, I used meditation as a way to refocus on what was important to me when times were confusing. It helped me begin my day with a specific intention when times were harder. Meditation represents...
