  • I was so happy with this clients end results!
📚 A little back story:
°
°
This client had her nose pierced over 5 years ago somewhere else. The piercer who worked on her didn't ask about future jewelry goals and didn't give an option for placement.. ✨ Her goal was to be able to wear a fitted hoop one day, but because it was done a little high she had a difficult time finding jewelry that would fit properly on her own. 😔 °
°
💣 She had kind of given up hope on being able to find a hoop that would look good, so she scheduled an appointment for a high nostril.
High nostrils are the bomb.com! I totally love doing high nostrils. Howeeeever! A part of the process with me involves a discussion about your goals, previous experiences with other piercers and jewelry preferences. 💖
°
°
🤔 I did notice that her healed piercing was placed a little high, but I felt like she was settling for this high nostril piercing because she didn't get the desired look that she previously desired. We talked about that and she agreed. SOOO, I measured her out and got her fitted with a hoop and helped her find the perfect white gold piece to accent it!
I was stoked, she was stoked and her wife was happy with it as well 💞
°
°
She's wearing a 14k white gold tri-bead cluster end from @bodygems in her new piercing, and a implant grade stainless steel captive bead ring from @leroifinejewelry in her healed piercing. She totally left with something she didn't come in expecting, but she also left with an end result she ended up loving 100x more 🎊
°
°
🖐🏽 If you have healed piercings that you don't quite love or have had bad experiences elsewhere, I'd love to work with you to achieve your aesthetic 👂🏾 👃🏽 👄

  • Storytelling: I had been eyeing the @ideo_u courses since the day they went live. Last year I finally decided to make the investment and do the storytelling one.
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I've been fascinated with the subject for ages and think it's a crucial skill in today's world. During the course I quickly realized it is A LOT of work to craft a really good story. But it's also very satisfying to see your draft getting better and better with each iteration.
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There were also some smaller assignments. This is one of my favourites. I have been writing stuff for as long as I can remember, so it was quite fun to make a heap with some of my the notepads. 💚

  • "There are no gods left to watch, I’m afraid. And there are no gods left to help you now, Aelin Galathynius.'
Aelin smiled, and Goldryn burned brighter. 'I am a god."
Sarah J. Maas, Kingdom of Ash
.
🧛‍♀️ Hi Monsters, here's a quickie photo of my favourite shelf. It's also my little witchy corner thanks to my coven girls and their gifts. I'm dreaming of a custom bookshelves one day. To build it from scratch and paint it some dark color, it looks so good in my head.
I'm craving Maas readathon more and more every day, a bit thanks to @jana.reads and her Maas journey. I wonder when will I finally cave in.
.
Also @amandathereader tagged me to do an alphabet tag using the letter C:
.
Author: Cecelia Ahern
Book: Crown of Midnight
Character: Citra Terranova (Scythe Anastasia)

I choose the letter M!
(I tagged a few of you on the photo if you want to do it too)

  • Start before you are ready...
.
You have a dream, a desire, a knowing that there is something inside you that wants to be expressed. It keeps knocking...there are days where it is unbearably loud and then there are days where you only sense a gentle humming, but it’s there, it keeps reminding you...
.
You feel unprepared, uncertain, unqualified..so why should you start? Because what you have is enough! Sure you can keep planning, preparing, play mind games, lay down the theory of the pros and cons, you can stall, delay and revise the plan...non of this will give you what taking action will give you...actual experience and something to work with. You will learn and revise as you go...
.
It doesn't matter if you want to start a new business, write a book, start a blog, take sewing classes … who you are, what you have, and what you know at this point is enough. .
Be brave. The power to build your dreams is in your hands. Move it, shape it, live it!
Dare to suck and learn from it!

To forge a true connection with your audiences, and move the needle in your business, you may need to change your whole mindset about content.

  • For almost my entire life, I’ve been a storyteller.
.
I started before I knew how to spell. I would make up stories and have my dad write them on printer paper to give to my great grandma so she had something to do between our visits (so I was adorable, clearly). I went to college for journalism and spent the earliest days of my career telling stories for print and in broadcast, and today I tell the stories of my clients biggest days and sweetest moments through photography.
.
Somewhere along the way, though, I stopped telling the stories of my own life. (Sort of a “Cobbler’s children have no shoes” situation...) When my days are filled with telling stories for other people, I have mostly forgotten to create those same keepsakes for myself.
.
This year, my goal is to get back to telling my stories. To making time to create for me. To remembering the little things that make life right now so great. It’s started today with a Sunday morning trip to our favorite coffee shop with my man. Check out my stories for more ✨

  • I've never gone to station to see someone off before. I'm habituated with the waiting, with the making memories, with the departure too well. But I wasn't there when someone has to leave, when someone has to take a train, when someone has to wave from a window, when someone has to slowly let go of the moments and go forward to their direction. ⁣
⁣
But yesterday I went to see her off, I went all the way to the station with her, we shared some talks as well as some comfortable silences and some last moment giggles. Every time she came, she brought spring with her whatever the season may be outside of our house. Honestly, I love the waiting, I love the anticipation of her coming, I love my endless thoughts about what I would tell her, where we'll go, what we'll do but every year she came we usually never left the house, we spent all the time filling each other in with the grand and tiny details of our life we could manage in such a short time span. ⁣
⁣
We live in different cities, in different circumstances, but whenever we meet it's like our childhood never left the house, it's like our cities collide in a field of remembrance and nostalgia. It feels like we never grew up, she is not in office, I'm not in college, we're still two kids role playing as queens of some Disneyland, as some detectives chasing a suspect down the lane in Baker Street, as some witches studying Defense Against The Dark Arts at Hogwarts. ⁣
⁣
Every year when she left, I saw her from the threshold of our old house that still holds our childhood together, but this year I finally went to see her off at the station. We held hands before departing, we said our goodbyes before departing, we waved the best wishes before departing. ⁣
⁣
My soul sister will come back after another year, I'll again be anticipating and waiting. It hurts to see her from the threshold, it still hurts when I see her off, it felt like the ending of some happy days but this year I felt nice. ⁣
⁣
The train slowly went away and away….⁣
I felt another year of memories didn't end, another year of anticipation just started. ⁣

  • THE END - of draft 7 means the beginning of draft 8. This is a big moment for me.
After eight months of painstaking revision and redrafting, the 7th draft of my story is done.
A couple of things stand out from the experience so far.
I’ve been on the verge of giving up several times during this process. The same story. The same characters. Dead ends. New beginnings. Ideas that did not work out. It has been hard, but... I am very glad I stuck with it because I love the way the characters have developed, the way the world and the magic have come alive and most importantly, the fact that I have story that is fully told.
It comes in just shy of 90K words, which is triple the word count of my last draft. If anything, that just shows how many words an additional p.o.v. character with a full arch adds to the story.
Coaching and developmental editing have been a huge part of this process. I think the jump from draft six to seven with professional help is as big a leap as I made from draft two to six on my own. It is a learning process.

What’s next? Well first of all, I am putting this baby down for at least a month, probably even longer and I am going to work on another novella. I want to get back to reading this draft with fresh eyes and having almost forgotten about the story, so that when I read it next, I get a good sense of where the challenges lie.
If you’re interested in what is to come, follow me here and I will get back to you with updates.
In the meantime, I wish you a week full of writing and inspiration.

  • He stood there yesterday morning, HEB bag in his hand, toothpaste on the crevices of his mouth, he looked tired and the first thing I noticed was his hair— “I need to take a photo of him, he is so beautiful” I told Leila while getting out of the car, I needed gas. “Excuse me mam, do you have change?” Hold on a moment I told him, as I stepped into the convenient store. Came back out and bargained with him “cash for a photo” he agreed quietly and with a smile, shyly following me around the building. I took one photo, thanked him, told him to becareful, he nodded and he walked straight to McDonalds. I finished pumping gas, sat in the car for a second and told Leila “he was SO young, clearly passing through and I wanted to do was take him home to let him shower, cook him a hot breakfast and let him rest a moment” “why can’t we?” “Because sometimes we can’t interfere with life my love.... #texas #portraitphotography #photooftheday #redheads_of_insta #beautiful #human #storyteller #life #raw

  • The only way to get over pain is to go through it. Pain was never meant to be silenced. The discomfort, the uncertainty, the disappointment, the heartbreak, the loss, the grief — it was all meant to be felt & it can be all too overwhelming. But sit with it. Meditate. Feel the emotions. Don’t get stuck on them, allow them to pass through you. The mind is like an unruly child & we must learn to parent it. We must guide it back to safety. By doing the work & allowing time to pass, the fog that once mist around us will begin to clear. When it clears, we must let it go. We can’t be drawn back into the fog that once kept us blinded. We must surrender to the reality of what has been revealed instead the portrayal we had painted.
.
If you’re currently in the midst of pain, the kind that forms a physical ache in your body, I know it hurts, but keep going. That’s just your heart muscle getting stronger — the heart works out too. 🥀🖤
