Moral of the story : if your ex got a girl and still wants to fuck, it’s great but let him go! PERIODT! -
This is Lisa.
Before I knew she was “Lisa” I saw this “pretty girl & bird mural” many times from afar while living in Lisbon this past summer. But one day, I wanted to go see her up close.
☀️The hot sun was scorching down on my freshly burned skin (wear SPF y’all),
🌬👙a light breeze served as a reminder that any surprisingly strong gust of wind could expose my polka-dotted-panties to the world,
🙅🏻♀️the uneven cobblestone streets tested my grace and agility,
🦅the seagulls were squarking so loudly that it made me nervous even though I wasn’t flying a drone (if you know, you know),
👵🏽🍷the Portuguese grannies were calling out to me asking if I wanted to try Ginja (a Portuguese liquer),
💃🏻but I didn’t let anything stop me: I was on a mission!
I continued walking in Alfama (the oldest district of Lisbon), until I got to Calçadinha da Figueira. Then I looked up and declared “dammmmmmn, thasss beautiful. Y’all see that?” (that’s a lie, I didn’t say that out loud, but I was thinking it).
I took in the sight, never knowing who she was or who the artist was. I suppose that’s one of the greatest things about art, you don’t often need context to appreciate it.
However, being that I am a curious person (my childhood nickname was Curious George🙈), I did want to know. So I examined this photo closer and noticed Tami had signed her name. After a bit of digging around on the internet I found:
@tami_hopf created Lisa during the first Portuguese edition of Paratissima (a Contemporary Art Festival). Tami creates enigmatic characters immersed in imaginative and surreal universes. Her art often reflects the complicated relationship between human beings and nature.
In this mural, the nature seems to interpenetrate Lisa reaching a dimension of grace and purity. Moving on this line between figuration and abstraction, joy and sadness, happiness and loneliness, Tami leads us to her imaginary and fantastic world.
So, shotouts to you Tami Hopf, for creating this beauty. And shoutouts to Lisbon, for all the sights, sounds, and quirks.
Leave a comment telling me if you’ve been to Lisbon or if you have plans to go!😍
