One of the uber-cool things I saw at #TEDxChulaVista yesterday was this #RedBrick#Jenga -ish-looking #thingamajiggy here. Sadly, I didn't see it until the event was over and the booths were already mostly broken down, because nobody was standing next to it, so I have no idea which booth this even came from. But I love the idea of playing with #LifesObstacles as actual physical bricks, because the adopting #TheSpiritOfPlay goes a long way toward tapping into the power of the #SubconsciousMind mind. Manipulating the bricks for a while and then finally seeing your #ObstaclesRemoved at the end of the day could be pretty powerful.
Staring at these bricks gave me so many ideas for fun #LifeSkills games!! Like putting all your bricks in a backpack and carrying them around on a long hike, then slowly #unburdening yourself of them one by one. And then maybe smashing them to bits with a hammer! Or having someone literally build a wall of these bricks around themselves and then have other people attempt to interact with them.
Young artists are increasingly pressured to find a style, commit to it and only work in that way. To develop a style, however, takes consistent practice over time. Pressuring new artist to find a style and stick to it takes the fun out of art. Many artists are drawn to art because they value personal freedom of expression. We don’t like to be told what to do. When freedom of expression is stifled by forcing the artist to commit to one way of working in order to develop a cohesive body of work, the new artist can be turned off by art and discontinue. It’s too much pressure, too rigid. I believe that in order to create a cohesive body of work that is authentic and meaningful to both the artist and the viewer, much experimentation and play must take place. It takes practice, if not time, to develop a style. We must get to know ourselves through consistent, disciplined making, BUT that work should be playful and experimental, at least at first. We need to try a bunch of things before we know what we truly love. As we work consistently over time, the work reveals itself to us, we discover a way of working that fits. Only then we can distill what we have been practicing into a cohesive body of work. We do not stop there, however. Sometimes people don’t need your sunshine. They need your moonlight to lighten things up when they’re at their darkest hour.😉
Low vitamin D levels have been linked to poor sleep but @primalgirlpower figured out that when we take this "sunshine" vitamin helps (or worsens) sleep for some people.
Because we make most of our vitamin D from sunlight, she made the intuitive leap that taking her vitamin D at night might not be a great idea. As she says, “I looked aghast at the 10,000 units of Vitamin D I was taking. It was 7 o’clock at night! I was essentially giving my body 15 minutes worth of bright sunlight energy. No wonder I was waking up in the middle of the night! I was telling my body that it wasn’t really time for bed, it was still the middle of the day.”
She moved her vitamin D to first thing in the morning and immediately started sleeping great. #bettersleepmonth

I remember a time in my life where makeup was nonnegotiable & having short hair gave me SO much anxiety. My exterior meant everything to me.
I was so judgmental & ashamed of myself, I wanted to hide or alter everything - my eye bags, eyebrows, cheekbone structure, my nose..the list goes on & on.
Having long hair was also a 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁, bcus it was my protection, in a sense. I’ve always known I had nice hair, & if I didn’t feel confident about my makeup, the volume & luster of my hair made up for that. The length of my hair = the confidence I had in myself. And as silly as that sounds now, this was my truth (& my crutch).
Something happens inside when you commit to fully loving, learning, & accepting yourself wholly. And in no way, shape, or form am I against makeup bcus I LOVE glamming myself up once in a while. However, 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 makeup was so 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 for me bcus it was just me hiding the parts of myself I felt “weren’t pretty”. And to the subconscious mind translates to “𝒴𝑜𝓊’𝓇𝑒 𝓃𝑜𝓉 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝒹 𝑒𝓃𝑜𝓊𝑔𝒽.”
The thing is, I am though. I am enough. And I love myself. I love my skin, my cheekbones, my lips - everything. If I wanna wear makeup, I do. But being in a place where I don’t NEED it just gives me a new sense of empowerment. I’m also finding myself cutting my hair every few weeks, as if to match the layers of myself I’m shedding.
Loving all parts of yourself is the most empowering act of self love. To find yourself perfect, the way your mother sees you.. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I often compare the craft of moon cycling with building a house.
1st phase, the New Moon, we strategize & design the blueprint: determining the methods and techniques we will use to build our project!
2nd phase of the cycle, the "Waxing Moon" : we get to work, we BUILD the Foundation.
3rd Phase, The Full Moon, we want to put the finishing touches in time for our deadline - and it's full speed ahead! We deconstruct and reconstruct the foundation until it's perfect, but we go with the flow and have fun with it! Exciting times - our hard work is paying off now!
4th phase, the "Waning moon": things aren't as exciting now. A bit serious, actually. We engage our brains critical faculties as we realize we have a big mess to clean up. We tidy, organize, and are primed to get rid of everything we don't need. We naturally do this so we are ready to start again with the New Moon.
For May, we are currently in phase 4 of our "project", the "waning moon phase". Our hormone chemistry at this time in the cycle has our critical brain centres finding the problems in everything. We want solutions. We are looking for errors. So now is the time to focus the attention to clearing shit out; shift, re-adjust, clear your space, and organize yo' life - you've got the will to do it!
Because we are extra "critical" right now, it can make us irritable if we forget to look upon everything with love, gratitude, and compassion. Let go of the need for perfection, rather embrace any progress. Even if that's just letting go of any expectations of yourself and others. When I become too self-critical during the waning moon I love to slow down at reconnect by having a therapeutic bath with oils, flowers, candles, and some 432 Hrtz music! I always wake up the next morning with profound clarity and renewed sense of purpose after pampering myself during the waning - new moon.

I AM are powerful words and you should use the words more than once a day if you want to see true results. .
90% of our results are governed by our sub-conscious thoughts and vibrations, not our conscious thoughts.
You are conscious when you say your affirmations about you, but your conscious mind only contributes 10%.
In order to manifest what it is that you want in your life, for example, I AM Love, I AM Wealth and I AM Happy, you have to say it and feeeeeeel it. The more you say it and feeeeeeel it, the vibration frequency will travel through every single cell in your body delivering that frequency that you want to manifest.
Stop using the words “I Hope or I Want,” because they don’t come from abundance, they come from scarcity, a lack of.
So raise your vibration by saying “I AM Wealth, I AM Love or I AM Peace. The more you see it and say it you are brainwashing the sub-conscious thinking and vibration to attract what you want and it will speed up the Law of Attraction and allow you to manifest it instantly.

A placebo is a pharmacologically inert substance that is used as a control in clinical trials. Placebos range from working anywhere between 10% to 100%. The placebo is capable of causing positive health effects on certain sick individuals—especially if they do not know that they are receiving an inert substance (eg. water, sugar) and believe it is a real medication. This has long been known to the medical community, but Ted Kaptchuk, a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and one of the leading researchers on the placebo effect, wanted to take his research one step further. He thought, what if instead of deceiving people to the fact that they were taking a medicine, he actually told them the truth? And so he launched the first open-label placebo or so-called honest placebo trial.
The first study was conducted on people with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). The result was that compared to the people who received no treatment, nearly twice as many people in the trial who knowingly received the placebo pills reported experiencing symptom relief. Also, the men and women who took the placebo doubled their rate of improvement, equaling the effects of 2 IBS medications commonly used.
When it comes to taking placebos, a certain number of people will accept, believe, & surrender to the thought of being healed or feeling relief from their symptoms without any analysis. As they do this, they begin to program their autonomic nervous system to create the exact pharmacy of chemicals equal to the substance or treatment they think they are receiving. So Is it the inert substance that’s doing the healing? Or is it the body’s innate capacity to heal by thought alone?
This research shows that people can knowingly take a placebo & experience positive effects without even thinking that it will or will not work. A certain number of people will simply respond to the inert substance with the knowing that there’s no active ingredient in it. What this demonstrates is that the act of taking pills over time to reduce symptoms becomes the subconscious belief that a substance will heal us🧬
