Let’s keep going with the hot dog theme, since it’s basically a holiday...sorta. 🤣So, a few weekends ago I spent a few days in Up North (is this just a Michigan thing?🤔) at a cottage on a GORG lake with my fam. The weather was HOT-HOT-HOT 🌞so we spent the majority of the days sitting on the doc in our swimmy suits. 👙So, buns were out- to an extent, anyway🤣 (I do like to leave a little something to the imagination, thank you!😘) This weekend was filled with delicious food🥩🍔🌭, ice cream trips 🍦and a V special worms & dirt cake for a certain 3 year old birthday boy 🍰. Now, 3 years ago, I would have thought “Sh*t, I have to be in a swimsuit, eat burgers, hot dogs, ice cream AND cake?! Hell. No..” 😳Can you relate to feeling this way?🙋♀️
But, that didn’t happen this year. 🙅♀️This year I was EXCITED for it. 🤩Excited to feel the sun 🌞on my behind while laying on the dock reading magazines and watching my preggo sister 🤰chase after her two boys (perks of being an Aunt), to lick the spatula while making the cake 😋with my oldest nephew and to not ONCE think about calories, scrutinizing my body, or what I’d have to do to “earn” the food or burn it off. How did I make this my reality? 🧐By changing my mindset, challenging my food rules, and improving body image. All of which have come to be the 3 pillars of my No Food Rules program that I’ve been teaching thousands of women to help change their lives too. So they can start living the lives they are worthy of, NOT ones dictated by their food rules!🥳

Summer salads are my fave, especially when it involves my two faves: avocado and watermelon. Basically a match made in heaven. This salad is perfect as a last minute picnic dish or a barbecue side dish. Even the salad haters will come around when they try this salad. ⠀

Green grill - Ecologicoal is made from olive pip waste and has zero carbon footprint. It is also strongly advised to use natural fire lighteners and we hate to ruin it for you but that good old steak is not the most sustainable thing you can eat. Make the veggies the star of your summer BBQs!

Homemade pesto 🌿 Here’s what you need and how to make this insanely simple, incredibly delicious pasta: 1 Cup fresh basil, 1/3 Cup EVOO, 1/3 Cup Parmesan, 3 Tablespoons unsalted pine nuts + 1/4 Cup unsalted pine nuts, 3 cloves garlic, pinch of salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, 1/2 lb pasta (used @dececco_pasta cavatappi), 2 Cups cherry tomatoes 🍅 1) Cook pasta al dente 2) Toast 1/4 Cup pine nuts over medium heat in a dry skillet for 3-5 minutes or until fragrant and slightly toasted 3) Combine basil, EVOO, Parmesan, 3 T pine nuts, garlic, salt and pepper in a food processor or blender 4) Cut tomatoes in half 5) Combine everything in a glass bowl and coat to toss 6) EAT 🤤 #dietitianish
