I grew a CHILLI PLANT! Seriously this is a huge deal as I love plants....but they wouldn’t survive in my house - ever!. A beautiful green foliage would soon turn into a dead dessert shrub ☹️. My mother on the other hand had a green house in her house and garden centre outside! Being bought up with a horticulturist I was a bit frustrated that I could never seem grow plants. So two months ago I decide to take up my mothers challenge of growing a plant and lie and behold I did it! 🤗🙌🏽 •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Honestly there are so many reasons to have houseplants (source: Lifehack.org): 🌱 They help purify the air which is great for those suffering from respiratory issues..plants that do this the best are Aloe vera, spider plant, bamboo & Chrysanthemums) 🌱 They give healthy pesticide free produce (aka my chilli 🌶 plant above!) 🌱They can help lower stress levels & therefore help you sleep better (plants that do this best are lavender, gardenia, aloe Vera & jasmine) the natural vapes give off a gentle soothing effect when placed in the bedroom. 🌱They can help fight colds and coughs ~ Plant’s ability to humidify the air and decrease dust can help fight virus that cause colds and coughs; eucalyptus plant is great one to have in the house! 🌱They can improve general wellbeing. Studies also found that patients in hospitals who face garden views had greater chances of recovering more than those who were facing a wall. The presence of plants contributes to the general feeling of wellbeing, making people more happy and optimistic about life. 🌱Plants are often associated with human connection whether it be birth, marriage, death & play a significant role in enhancing people’s mood. ✨Think about all the times you received flowers or outdoors surrounded by plants - how did it make you feel? 💗
