I was searching my archives for an autumn shot and found this October 2013 photo. This photogenic lighthouse is the Portland Head Light, located in Cape Elizabeth and is said to be the oldest one in Maine. The sunset colors and the calm waters added to the beauty and serenity of the scene. Can you recommend other beautiful lighthouses to shoot?
I looked for you all day, until the sun started to set. I sat down and watched it by myself, thinking of you. Thinking you’d probably already left by now. I watched the last beaming sun rays stretch along the mountainside and spill into a valley of rolling hills, bleeding out their last light in yearning, outstretched arms before leaving the landscape in the cold, dark shadow of itself. Maybe you were watching it too, from an airplane window, climbing up to 30,000 feet... I’m not mad—I can’t blame you for leaving. I should probably get back to my life anyway. I just wish we could have said goodbye better.
I found this road just a few days ago and it brought my mind back to former times. This is a really mystic place and fits perfectly into the times where all the fairy tales happen. I nearly crashed Little Red Riding Hood when she crossed this street. We‘re all lucky cause I missed her, so we can enjoy a famous fairytale in future times as well.
