  • Ieri sera c’è stato il nostro primo corso di cucina in provincia di Lecco.
Ah, la Brianza. Una parte d’Italia che sa essere accogliente e scontrosa nello stesso tempo.
Eravamo pronte a tutto, anche ad un flop quando abbiamo deciso di lanciare qualche mese fa questo workshop sulle preparazioni base dolci e salate. Vegan. 
E invece ieri sera è successo che eravamo in overbooking. C’è stata anche un’infiltrata, sul serio, che s’è seduta e nemmeno s’era iscritta. Non avevamo più sedie né tavoli per farvi accomodare al @barycentrosineresi , che ci ha accolto come se fossimo a casa.
Ma la cosa più bella sono stati i vostri sorrisi, le mani tremanti che abbiamo stretto a fine serata, gli abbracci gonfi di primavera nonostante la pioggia e il freddo, gli applausi dopo aver assaggiato la vostra prima torta senza zucchero. 🍰

Tutte queste cose qua, sono per Francesca. 
E’ lei che ha studiato tanto, che inventa nuove ricette, che infonde il cibo di amore, che sa essere testimone mai noioso della nostra storia d’amore ma anche di malattia.

Solo che poi ci sono delle volte in cui venite ad abbracciare me, a farmi i complimenti per i miei post, per come scrivo, perché ci so fare, a volte mi dite “brava” semplicemente perché amo. 
Perché amo Francesca più di ogni altra cosa e mi dite che si vede dagli occhi. Da come la guardo. 👀
E di questo davvero, ve lo giuro senza incrociare le dita, io non me ne accorgo. 
Poi però mi dico che forse sì, quello che penso si vede dagli occhi. E quando la vedo fare la vita, la vedo fare il mondo, la vedo fare i piccoli capolavori del cuore, è vero
Io penso solo

  • TOMATOES & OREGANO // I was recently fortunate enough to have the opportunity to design and cater a supper club for @squaremilefarms - a vertical hydroponic farm on an office roof in Paddington, growing ultra fresh, highly nutritious and super delicious greens, herbs and microgreens.

Each dish on the menu showcased some of SMF's amazing produce and Here's the recipe for the tomatoes and oregano.

200g feta
50ml unsweetened almond milk
10g parsley (including stalks)
500g cherry tomatoes
10g capers
10g oregano leaves
Some good quality olive oil
Rock salt

1.Crumble your feta into a food processor along with the almond milk and parsley (leaves and stalks). Whip everything up into a smooth mixture and scoop it out onto a large serving plate. Smear it into a flat layer to make a base for your tomatoes.
2.Heat up a glug of oil in a frying pan and add your tomatoes. Be sure not to overcrowd the pan – you can do this in batches if needed. Keep them on the heat, without moving them, for a couple of minutes until they begin to blister. Then give them a shake around to turn them over, add half your oregano leaves and the capers to the pan and blister the tomatoes again on the other side.
3.Tumble the blistered tomatoes, capers and oregano onto the centre of the feta and sprinkle over some rock salt and fresh oregano leaves to finish.

@arushiwabisabi and I ventured over to Cardiff last week to attend the wonderful @genagoss x @sueperlicious_bakery Thai & Malaysian supper club.

We were completely spoilt and to be honest a little overwhelmed by everything laid on top of the banana leaves.
.
I know you're just dying to find out what we had... Well the menu consisted of spicy chicken wings, steamed mussels, blue butterfly pea rice, pad thai, sour apple salad, vegetable spring rolls, slow cooked beef and pineapple curry from the Thai Side 🇹🇭 and nasi lemak, coconut, lemongrass and ginger rice, creamy butter chicken and achar from the Malaysian side 🇲🇾. £33 for 10 dishes was already a bargain - on top of that, Gena and Sue kept coming around with top ups to ensure we were satisfied!

As if that wasn't enough, we also had mango pudding & pandan and coconut layered cake for dessert!

What a wonderful evening - supporting home chefs, eating way too much and meeting new foodies!
