These are a series of posts to tell you all a little more about what I do, why I decided to leave my full-time agency role and my plans moving forward. . .
.
.
.
⬇️

First off, my story: Graduating from Uni in Farnham, UCA, in 2005, I left with a design degree. Unsure of the quality of my work, and lacking confidence I continued to work in the local boozer. I was fortunate enough to meet some incredible people who I am still friends with today and are an extension of my family. I have a few people to thank for the continued support 🖤

Learning how to cook in a commercial kitchen is how I spent the next 2 years, but I know this wasn't a good use of my degree, so I worked on my portfolio, went for a bunch of interviews and got a job with a local agency. Learned tonnes, failed fast and become an integral part of the business.

The whole team was made redundant and we pretty much went our separate ways. I kept the clients and started out on my own. A successful 2 or so years, I then join a local agency to support the business with full time creative. Working with an amazing team and a fantastic boss who was always supportive, with training and self-development, I was there for around 8 years or so. The direction of the business changed and I felt it was time to move on.

I battled for a few months trying to figure out what the hell I was going to do - do I join an agency focused on design? Did I only want to do design? What kind of agency did I want to join? Where, as well? Commuting, was that something I wanted to do?

Perhaps that was the easy route? Or perhaps there was the voice in my head back, saying I wasn't good enough to join a big creative agency! I really felt that my confidence, mojo, and identity had disappeared. What did feel natural to me was doing a variety of work for a variety of organisations and supporting them with their creative, digital and branding.

More to come. . .
