BIG NEWS!! China has finally agreed to ban an array of plastic items as of this year! 🙌🏼😅 By the end of 2020, #china will have banned plastic bags and straws in all major cities and aims to reduce plastic consumption by 30% throughout china by 2025! 💃🏼 The country is now working on phasing out other plastic products like #plastic cutlery and packaging too! 😁
You might be thinking that this isn’t enough and that China should work on achieving these goals much more quickly, but this is still a huge win because China is the BIGGEST plastic producer in the WORLD, with 66 million tonnes of it being produced in 2010 alone! 🤯 Not only that but China struggles to manage its plastic waste like so many other countries around the world do and the waste ends up polluting the environment! 😔 Therefore, we should celebrate this step in the right direction 👏🏼👏🏼 Well done China! Tap ❤️ if you agree! Comment your thoughts below #plasticfree#zerowaste#ecofriendly
Lunch today was this salad from my work salad bar 🥗 I must admit it was more filling than I thought it would be!
Dinner was my fave @lindamccartneyfoods shredded duck with some rice and stir fried veg, this dinner really hit the spot and I’ll definitely keep having this post-veganuary!! No work out for me today as I was feeling pretty tired after a busy weekend but looking forward to getting back to the gym tomorrow 🏋️
UK friends, no access to a zero-waste store? No problem, reuse and refill is still accessible!
I get it if solid bars aren’t your thing, they don’t work for everyone. 💁I get it if you can’t alway get to a zero waste store, sometimes they’re in weird locations, or you might not even have one in your town. But, if you’re in the UK, there is now a way to clean your hair and body with liquids AND somewhat close the cycle on waste.
• @thecb.co send you a starter pack with your desired combination of body wash, hand wash, shampoo, and/or conditioner, along with aluminum bottles and, if requested, pumps. When ever you run out you can just order another pouch!
But what about the plastic pouches I hear you say? Fair point. @thecb.co partner with terracycle, so they’ll take back the pouches (& bottle caps and pumps if ever you wanna get rid of them). These are then turned into pellets that make things like park benches. CB actually send you prepaid slips with the pouches, so returning them for recycling is also super easy! Just rinse and dry out the pouches, seal them in the returns package, and pop in the post box.
Recycling isn’t the perfect answer to waste, the recycling system is broken, but this service is a damn sight better than buying from polluting big brands, and is a good option if you don’t have access to a local zero waste store!

This is a few of the 900 women who hand weave our bags in Bangladesh. We enjoy the process of designing them in our Notting Hill studio, then have them sampled & developed by the women . This season you will be able to see the development of new colours, weaves & fonts we have created with these lovely ladies. 💫 🌟 ⭐️

Australia's @thebalfourkitchen at Spicers Balfour Hotel is a Queensland restaurant focused on provenance and full-flavoured cuisine. What they say: “Supporting local artisans, producers and farmers and sharing their stories with our guests is key to what we do at The Balfour Kitchen. We aim to cook food that is full-flavoured with minimal wastage and a focus on provenance. We only minimally change the ingredients we use from their organic form. We also have a rooftop edible garden, which includes beehives that provide us with superb honey. And we care deeply about ensuring all of our guests have a completely unique and memorable dining experience.”
