Every year, 150 million trees are cut to create fabric. Every second, the equivalent of 1 dump truck of textiles goes to landfill or incineration. Less than 1% of clothing is recycled, and that the clothing waste accumulated between today and 2025 will weigh as much as today’s world population. 🤯 These staggering numbers are as real as they are frightening, the ultimate proof that our fashion system is fundamentally broken.
We admire Stella McCartney committing to sustainable and cruelty-free business practices from day one, leading the way and inspiring others to follow suit. She proves that it is possible to have a thriving luxury business that is also conscious and ethically-driven.🙌
Stella's label has always been fur and leather free, pioneering new alternative materials made with cutting edge technology. She has used organic cotton, which eliminates the use of toxic chemicals, improves soil health and increases water conservation. Her knitwear is made from re-engineered cashmere, reducing the label's environmental impact related to cashmere use by an incredible 92%. Their viscose can be traced right back to the forest it came from, ensuring that it comes from sustainably managed forests. Her sunglasses are biodegradable and renewable, made from bio-acetate (cellulose acetate derived from wood and plasticizer derived from the esters of citric acid). 👏
Stella McCartney is a firm believer that the future of fashion lies in circularity: clothing that is restorative and regenerative that ultimately never become waste. But for changing this to take place, the fashion industry has to roll its sleeves and commit to innovation and change. There is no Planet B, so thank you Stella for walking the talk, and for continuing to lead the way into a more conscious world. 🌍 Featured here is Kaia Gerber in a fun organic cotton tie-dye jumpsuit. #Matriark#WomanLed
OMGGG Heather chose the most gorgeous white speckled yarn for her peplum top! She got this yarn at Hobby Lobby if you’re also falling in love with it! Fortunately for me and my wallet, the closest Hobby Lobby is a half hour away so I rarely visit it. 😋
So I need a new couch, and I’m going to do a sale this weekend so you can all help me buy a new couch 😋 I’ll post about it frequently so everyone can be ready for the sale! 😅🙃
At Vaathsalya Millet Cafe, we keep millets at the center of our meals. We also have a store - Javari, where we house products created by brands and groups which are sustainable and eco friendly. We also support various women led groups and house their creations on the store. .
It is Summer Florals series for us at #whatmysisterwore ! But it is also day 2 of #fashionrevolution Week!! Restyling and Reusing are two most important components of a sustainable and conscious wardrobe!
Reusing for us has always been a very regular thing! Few outfits that you love, you wear them until they are worn out and then they become your night wear 😄! A long kurti you love, has worn out at the edges, you make a short top out of it and continue wearing it!
Making kurtis out of mom's old chikankari dupattas, the usual!
It was not until very recently, a few years ago, this concept of not repeating your clothes gained momentum! Fast fashion brands changed their collection every 3 months, what you bought in April was not in vogue anymore in August!
You have already worn a particular dress to a party / gathering, how can you be seen in the same dress again! And so on and so forth !
We kept on accumulating clothes, shopping in a senseless manner, and before we know it our wardrobes are full of new clothes; hardly worn once or twice!
Reusing your clothes, Restyling them helps you sort our your garments also is fun!
Swipe left to see some more of our Restyling and Reusing! .

Ascend the summits of style with our handcrafted, sustainably designed bags.
Meet Adah’s first super hero, Birjhu bhaiya aka Batman. When I started working with him, I was awestruck by how much he knew!! He can look at any fabric and tell me the GSM and quality of the fabric without even touching it, he can look at a garment and tell me how much fabric would be required to make it. He works for 6 months and travels for the other six, he is able to do this because he is clear about taking his wage and equally clear about delivering quality products! We at Adah absolutely love working with Birjhu bhaiya. He is the tailor everyone deserves to get their outfits stitched from but not the one who is easliy found 🕶 #fashionrevolution#whomademyclothes#handloomgarments#ethicalfashion#fairtrade#ecofriendly#sustainablefashion#sustainable#humanrights

Day 2 of #fashionrevolutionweek and here’s @franballinger hard at work. One of the principal ways we encourage our customers to lessen their impact on the planet is by having garments mended or altered. Fran is hard at work altering a suit for a regular customer. Make do and mend people, saves you money and saves the planet!
Fashion shouldn’t cost the earth 📢
This week is Fashion Revolution Week, a seven day campaign headed by @fash_rev to highlight the importance of getting informed about how garments are produced before buying them, and a call to action to demand a fairer, safer, and more transparent fashion industry for all. Fashion shouldn’t cost the earth 📢

Where stillness and movement feel the same ,
Built around the yesteryear’s royals and their fame
Never-ending chapters of the ethereal
Architectural designs of some cosmic happenings
Structure shapes and re-shapes itself
As if molded from paper mache.
Oddly enough, the heart is molded of glass.
