Here is my favorite healthy protein cheesecake! 😋Best part? It involves NO EQUIPMENT, NO BAKE & only 3 INGREDIENTS!   • Rainbow Crudités platter with Beetroot and Coconut Curry Hummus.  Who wants to taste the rainbow? 🌈
If are hosting a New Year’s Eve party, I have a perfect party platter idea for you. Make these vibrant hummus recipes and serve them with the assortment of veggies. Posting the recipe for you right here. Always share if you tried any of my recipes and don’t forget to tag me #naturallyzuzu so I can share it in my stories. 
Being in Japan, I am missing all the veggies and fruits that are available in California all year around. I was looking for asparagus last night at the Kyoto market and couldn’t find any. Fruits are very limited here too. Found some super expensive strawberries and oranges were just ok. Going back to Tokyo tomorrow. Will be celebrating New Years in Shibuya. I heard they love celebrating New Year’s Eve here in Japan. I can’t wait to walk around the main square in Shibuya and watch the fireworks.

Thai Coconut Curry Hummus 
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups cooked chickpeas (or canned. Rinse well)
3 cloves garlic, minced
2-3 tablespoons of tahini
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1-2 tablespoons Thai vegan yellow curry paste (more or less depending on spice preference) 
1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon full-fat coconut milk
Water to thin, if necessary
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Place chickpeas, garlic, tahini, lime juice, curry paste, coconut milk in a food processor and whirl away until smooth. If the hummus is too thick, add water 1 teaspoon at a time until desired consistency is achieved.
Taste the hummus and add more curry paste if desired; season with salt and pepper. 
For the Beetroot Hummus
Follow all the above ingredients and instructions. (Eliminate curry paste and coconut milk) 
Add 1 medium raw chopped Beetroot 
1 tsp cumin powder 
4 tbsp of tahini (instead of 3)
1/3 cup water or more if needed. 
Blend everything until smooth. .

  • 10 STEPS TO PROTECT YOUR VIBE IN 2020 ✨
1. Let go of things you can’t control. 
2. Avoid comparing yourself to others.
3. Keep your faith larger than your fears.
4. Don’t do anything that doesn’t feel right. 
5. Don’t be afraid to spend time alone. 
6. Avoid gossip and bashing others. 
7. Speak kindly to yourself and to other people. 
8. Please yourself before trying to please others. 
9. Stay away from people who drain your energy. 
10. Ignore any opinions that don’t enhance your life. 
And to help you focus on all of the above, eat more foods that good for your body! 
This morning I made myself this heart warming Cardamom Tahini Oatmeal topped with banana slices, organic blueberries and strawberries, cocoa nibs and a pool of creamy almond butter with date syrup. Grab the recipe below. 
Ingredients:
Makes 3 servings
1 cup of organic oatmeal. I used @coachsoats brand. 
2 cups of water 
1 cup of oat milk 
1 tsp of cardamom 
2 tsp of tahini 
Splash of Rose water (optional) 
Bring water to boil. Add oats, tahini, cardamom. Reduce heat to medium boil. Cook for 2 min then add the oat milk. Cook for another 3 min stirring occasionally. Add the rose water, remove from heat and let it stand for 1 min before serving. Top your oatmeal with the generous dollop of almond butter drizzled with date or maple syrup, bananas, berries. Enjoy. #naturallyzuzu #porridge #oatmeal #breakfastofchampions #breakfastideas

  • You are the peanut butter to my toast! 
I never had nut butters growing up. It wasn’t common where I grew up or didn’t even exist. I remember the day when I first tried the peanut butter after moving to America and wondering why this savory spread was so popular here. It took me a while to really learn how to love the peanut butter. Now I can’t imagine living without it. Here is a toast with creamy @traderjoes organic peanut butter, drizzled with light date syrup. I always like to top my toasts with fruits and cocoa nibs for extra crunch. Sending much love to all! ❤️

There is nothing better than a delicious taco filled with all your favourite fillings and sauces! 😋Home-made tacos are one of my favourite dinners, and can be packed with nutritious ingredients! 🤩

My personal favs are hard shell & the lettuce ones! SO DELICIOUS! I like to fill mine with a 🍗protein of choice( usually beans), shredded veggies, grated cheese, guac, salsa & hot sauce! 🥑🥬🧀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🥬1)Lettuce: I like to use either iceberg lettuce or butter lettuce. A great option for when I’m looking for more VOLUME. The lettuce adds a delicious fresh crunchy element! 🧀2)Low carb: I usually make this option for when I have people who are gluten intolerant! I make this using 1 ingredient!!! All I do is place some grated cheese in a non stick pan, and let the cheese cook, melt and harden! Will show you the method on my stories @wholesome_lee
🥚3)Taco omelette: great for a high protein breakfast that is delicious!
💁‍♀️4)Soft shell: probably my least favorite, just because I prefer crunchy shells! But that being said I know that there are loads of people who prefer soft shells! I use wholegrain organic soft shells:)
🌶5)Bell pepper: adds a delicious crunchy sweet flavor to the taco filling! Absolutely delicious and another great VOLUME hack
🌽6)Hard shell: So delicious! I like to buy organic corn hardshell tacos & bake them for a few mins in the oven/ air fryer until crispy!

His name will be Lumos, because I'm such a #potterhead and he's a #blacksmokemainecoon ❤️ Nothing to do with fitness at all, but I'm so excited! ❤️ Cats make me extremely happy and happiness is all I want. 🌻 Working towards a fitter, healthier me is pursuing happiness as well as eating out, being around people I love and soon cuddling with four cats on the sofa on a #restday 👌🏻
ALSO I got my #lowerbody workout of week 6 of #bbgbeginner done and I could feel how much stronger I've become through the challenge these last few weeks! 💪🏻Plank Rocks are easy... almost. 😂

  • Week 5 day 1 of BBG. I was dreading it if I'm honest. BBG is testing my mind along with my body at the moment. Ive been feeling like I am performing badly lately at my training. I totally overdid it at the beginning so saw unrealistic and unsustainable results.

Now I've started listening to my body and actually following the plan at the pace I'm supposed to I'm feeling much better by my body doesn't look quite as good.

Does anyone else suffer with the mental side of training? I'm concentrating more on the food side as well at the moment. The food takes some getting used too but I haven't felt starving all day which is a new one for me 😂

  • #MobilityMonday -- Prepping Pistol Squats 🔫

Each Monday, I’ll be sharing a move that you can and SHOULD implement in your routine to help you become a more mobile, stronger lifter 💪🏼

So what’s the move this week? L-Sit Variations 🔥
.
I haven’t done pistol squats in a HOT MINUTE but I’m starting to work on them again because honestly why not? And this is how I prep 👇🏼
.
L-Sits may look like a walk in the park, but lemme tell ya, they are NOT easy 😅
.
They require ample strength & mobility in your arms, shoulders, back, core, and HIP FLEXORS 👏🏼 This is KEY if you want to be able to hold your leg out while performing pistol squats 😊
.
I recommend using one of these variations 👇🏼
.
✳️ Grab 2 fat-ended dumbbells that won’t wobble too much when you put your weight on them. OR if you have parallettes at your gym, those are a great option too!
.
✳️ The first variation I show is the SINGLE LEG L-SIT -- where one leg is extended fully out and the other is up in a TUCKED position. This is INTERMEDIATE.
.
✳️ The second variation is the full L-SIT -- where both legs are fully extended so it looks like you’re sitting in mid-air. This is the CHALLENGE position.
.
✳️ The last variation is the TUCK L-SIT -- where both legs are brought in to your chest. This is the STARTER variation.
.
✳️ Start out by trying for 10 second holds and build up your strength until you can manage ~30 seconds before moving to the next variation!
.
I definitely did these in a different order than I should’ve, but yeah 😝 If you’re just starting out, the TUCK is the way to go. Then you can progress to the SINGLE LEG L-SITS followed by a full out L-SIT 🔥

  • Right. I'm posting some "before" pictures. This is what my body looks like today. I have so many pictures lol. I'm not saying I look awful but I can see areas where improvement can be made and to be honest, I don't feel very comfortable or confident in my body anymore. I'm squeezing into the sports bra like you wouldn't believe lol. And I can't do it up properly!!! So this is me. Day 1.

I'm not saying I look awful but I can see areas where improvement can be made and to be honest, I don't feel very comfortable or confident in my body anymore. I'm squeezing into the sports bra like you wouldn't believe lol. And I can't do it up properly!!! So this is me. Day 1.

  • Mocha java shake! ♥️🍫 ☕️ Week 1 is coming to an end, and I already feel the positive differences:  less bloating, my pants fit better, and feeling great overall! Can’t wait to see what week 2 has in store! This shake was soooo delish, thanks to my favorite coffee substitute @dandyblend!!!
Recipe: 1 scoop each of @arbonne chocolate & marble protein powder, 1 tbsp each of hemp seeds, chia seeds, and ground flax (optional, but healthy & tasty), 1 tsp cacao powder, 2 tsps dandy blend, 1/2 scoop of @arbonne greens powder, 1 cup coconut milk (from Trader Joe’s), about 1/4 of water, and enough ice to blend! Topped with a sprinkle of more dandy blend & 1/2 tsp of cacao nibs! So good!

But with the help of multiple @starbucks stores along the way (for water and bathroom breaks— except you Starbucks on Hollywood & Vine 🙄), aid support at miles 8 and 16, and amazing girls to talk to along the way— We did it 🙆🏽‍♀️!
I’ve seen these girls WEEK AFTER WEEK, conquer their longest miles, ever.
Week after week— women’s run, tempo run, holistic session, track session, long run.
Committing and recommitting.
And here we are, DONE with our toughest week ever 🙌🏽!

  • I usually wear long t-shirts to the beach but yesterday I decided to be a little braver and stop hiding my body away, I actually don’t like wearing baggy clothes everyday because I don’t feel feminine so I’m working on healthier body image but also acknowledging everyday how well my body and mind have served me 🙋🏻‍♀️🌊🥰👩‍👩‍👧‍👧👏🏻

Today my husband and I both spent an unplanned and much needed rest day together. He’s been working like crazy, even on the weekends, so this was our first uninterrupted day together in weeks and it has been sooooo amazing. ⁣

He cooked me a delicious gourmet breakfast, we stayed in our pjs until 11 am {this is unheard of in our house}, went out for tacos and margaritas, spent some time outdoors, stopped by our favorite bottle shop, played in the back yard with our pups, cooked dinner and meal prepped together, and even went to our favorite local movie rental store {yes they still exist} and plan on doing nothing but drinking wine and watching movies {up first: cheech and Chong’s up in smoke.....and no, we’re not stoners, we just watch stoner movies 🤷‍♀️}⁣

I am so proud of myself and all of you #sweatbabes for completing this #sweatchallenge and doing it with grace. Not gonna lie, it’ll be weird waking up tomorrow and not immediately opening up the @sweat app to see what this weeks challenge looks like but I’m planning on doing pwrathome {for the third time} focusing on my form and using heavier weights. ⁣

  • Starting BBG tomorrow 💪. Looking forward to the change in 12 weeks time, although it's going to take me 16 weeks to complete the programme as I'm starting with the pre training. I haven't followed a regular exercise routine in nearly 2 years so I'm easing myself into it. I'm doing the workouts 3 times a week and then starting with 35 minutes of liss, 2 times a week. I'm going to take it a day at a time but I'm feeling motivated and determined, so wish me luck!!

I did my workout using the 6 week yoga challenge on the @sweat app, yay! I finished it at 5:15am cos I was up since 2:30am from really bad tummy and back cramping and I feel sooo much better now 😁

  • people often message me asking how I do it, how do i make it to the gym day in & day out while working 40 hours, commuting etc, aren’t I tired? My response is that i am A L W A Y S tired but the girl on the left wasn’t just tired, she was uncomfortable, shy, quiet, had low self confidence, the list could go on & on. Now, im not saying i still don’t feel those things at times but I 100% do not ALWAYS feel like that anymore & that is what gets me up every morning, decides whether or not I spend my lunch break at the gym. i used to hate leaving the house, getting dressed, being social because i was S O uncomfortable with my body & at times i still am but i know those feelings now are just the old me creeping around in my head. i continue to push myself every single day because being able to get dressed in almost anything & leave the house in confidence without trying to hide is the best feeling in the world & I’ll take tired every single day 💖🍋
