I've been to the Biltmore on many occasions and I've taken quite a few pictures there. This one is of a light fixture, I believe it was in the basement, consisting of six, bare bulbs. I like the symmetry of the picture as well as the contrast between the bright white of the filaments and the darkness of the fixture and surrounding area. I also like the shapes of the filaments.
When I first shot this boat, “Tara”, I wasn’t to keen on that metal line coming right at me, but I had no choice as the boat was in a trailer. I had to maneuver my camera between the hitch and the boat so as to eliminate the trailer from the shot, but had no control over the line and chain. I just knew i loved that Hershey’s kiss drop of purple and blue, and wanted to give it a shot.
Well. I’m happy that I did. It’s a bit different for the series, but I love it and it always seems to elicit a strong response.
What do you think? Check it out at YJ Gallery through July 20th. .

∆ I don’t know what I’m cut out for. If there’s anything I have love for I throw myself upon its door. And tell it how fucked you are. Up in morning, down at dawn, warm up vocals... Sing a song, sit in car. Read a book, rest stop eggs or chips. I look at you every day. You change, I change... (Frankie Cosmos - Tour Good) ∆
