Three days without training.
I was really looking forward to a good leg training on Tuesday but felt when I was on my way to the gym that my body was weak so I decided to skip the training and go home. It was a good decision. Later in the evening I began to feel worse and during the night I got fever, headache and had pain in every part of my body. I haven’t felt this bad for a loooooon time.
The last two days I’ve been trying to take it easy and rest as much as I can. Today I feel better and on my way to a weekend trip to Tallin. I was a little bit worried I was going to miss the trip so I’m glad i got better. But even if I feel better I’ve decided to stay away from the heavy training at least 3-4 days before I hit the gym again. Or more if my body needs it. No going back before I’m 100% ready.
All about shoulders w/HIIT intervals + core this morning 💪🏼 Done in 30 minutes but still a great workout! You don’t have to spend hours at the gym to get amazing results 🙌🏻 You just need to commit & make the time!

Do you foam roll?
After several injuries over the past couple of years (apparently I am getting old), I have decided to actually listen to my amazing chiropractor, and put into practice on a consistent basis (yes, consistency is key) what she has been telling me all all along “Ambrah, you have got to slow down a bit and take the extra time to foam roll”. From IT band to lower back, to plantar fasciitis, to my hip flexors basically freezing up on me, I decided my body was crying out enough to actually listen and begin consistently foam rolling. Why oh why am I so stubborn?! (That’s for another post!)
And OH how I am already reaping the benefits...!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Here is a basic article about the benefits of foam rolling.

In the pursuit of happiness a lot is made of introspective self-reflection to achieve it.
There’s a good reason for this.
In Ancient Greece a maxim was inscribed across the entrance to the Oracle of Delphi. It read, “Know Thyself”. Over time this maxim has come to represent the importance of self-awareness and self-knowledge in any person’s quest for happiness and fulfilment.
But ... while this kind knowledge is undoubtedly important, it is not what the maxim sought to convey! Nor was this maxim the only one that Athenians were encouraged to live their lives by.
The was another equally important maxim: “Take Care Of Yourself’. This maxim stressed an important rule for social and personal conduct and for the ART OF LIFE!
The idea of taking care of yourself stressed a concern for the quality of one’s diet, sleep, nurturing the health of relationships and friendships, ensuring one’s physical fitness and knowledge of worldly affairs.
Self care is so important!! Where I live it’s currently March Break which for most parents means a very busy week, a lot of running around or a vacation away somewhere which, as we all know, ends up not being a true vacation and you come back more tired than before!
Make sure to take even 5 minutes to take care of yourself especially during busy and stressful times. Otherwise you will end up burnt out and sick.

I really enjoyed this park today. I'm thinking this will be my new spot to walk to and then jog the perimeter. I actually have endurance now, I'm so proud of myself. It's still not much but it's an improvement and I guess that's what counts.
