  • Well this lil lady is feeling pretty chuffed with herself. Just ran 2 the swimming baths, swam a mile and ran back. My foots still sore so it was about time I did a swim instead. I havnt swam for about 4 years I think and I'm not a strong swimmer at all but I am stubborn. I had 50 minutes to do as much as I could originally, then I worked out that if I didn't stop at all I could hit the mile mark. The mile and half home was a steady jog and the seat on the decking feels amazing! Sat with my coffee and veg lasagne in the sunshine feeling happy with myself......and wondering if I should add a triathlon to the bucket list 🤔

  • I swear I’m ACTUALLY getting worse at group selfies.🤦🏼‍♀️ trying, (and failing as you can see) to include the heron in this one!
Led a very steamy Garden Cafe Runners run today - it was muggy as balls, and we were waiting for the heavens to open and the thunderstorm to kick off... nothing yet, it’s probably saving itself for the school run.

  • Today was our Club25 ride. This marks our anniversary. 60 women, 8groups, different paces. The slowest leaves first and we all arrive back at the same time for scones! sMiles all round. Happy Birthday Us!

  • The sweatiest of sweaty selfies! What a work out 🏋️‍♀️ So glad I sprinted for the bus, after I forgot to set my alarm, and it nearly didn’t happen. Now home to cook a healthy dinner for myself and my boys :)

  • Love exercise with the munchkin. Trying to do a bit more leg strengthening. T25 is my easy go to at the moment.

  • Excusing the Wedding I went to (and two meals out), in the last two weeks I’ve eaten less and well, drank way more water and exercised more. I’ve lost 2.6kg (5lb) and 2.8% of body fat. More importantly I feel so much better!! I’m not craving any foods, have had no headaches, my skin is clearer and I’m sleeping better.....feeling happy 👍🏻😊 #strongfit #healthyeating #exercise #waterwise #personalgoals #nearing50 #thisgirlcan

  • One year ago it was Day 14 of our 62 day ocean row from California to Hawaii.
.
.
.
In order to make it to Hawaii (see our complete final track in the first map) you need to get far enough west to avoid being swept in a current down to Mexico. The second photo shows our progress up to day 14 and the battle we had on our hands to make it far enough west.
.
.
.
Stokey, our weather router who we spoke to daily, would say through this initial part of the journey things like “you’ve made it 20 nautical miles today, and 4 of them were in the right direction!” It was maddening.
.
.
.
Following the difficulty around Day 11 (see my previous post for the low down) it hadn’t improved much by Day 14. I still was barely eating anything, still vomiting, still wet, still cold.
.
.
.
I was getting more and more tired and emotionally getting lower and lower. I was starting to think it was inevitable that my body would fail. Before we left, everyone said maybe it would last 3 or 5 days. Everyone kept reassuring me it would be ok, but it wasn’t ok.
.
.
.
I remember @meg_hoskin coming out onto shift in the pitch black at 4.30am that morning and I just couldn’t do it anymore. I had nothing left in the tank, and I gave up and went into the cabin, defeated.
.
.
.
Before starting this journey, I knew that these moments of trial were inevitable. For when times got tough, I had packed some letters from my partner and close friends to use as an emotional boost when you can’t actually see them or speak to them.
.
.
.
The first letter I opened was from @ajbirkby who agreed to mentor me a couple of years ago when I was completely lost in the madness of starting my first business, and am grateful to now call him a friend.
.
.
.
His advice was simple but powerful. It was that we expected this moment to happen. We knew it was coming, and that it is only in these moments that we can learn to be who it is we need to be to get through to the other side.
.
.
.
And it couldn’t have been more true. So often we wait to take on hard things until we feel completely prepared and ready. But those two feelings never arrive, so then we avoid doing whatever it is we want to do because we aren’t ready.

  • A big mid-week shout out to one of the funniest, most friendly and most "obsessed with getting a PB" clients I have the pleasure of training 🤗
.
When I started training Paul he named his programme "Operation Six Pack" and was determined to make fitness a part of his life and become stronger and fitter💪
.
In his first session I was assessing his movement through lunges and squats and he won't mind me saying...he couldn't lunge and we had to adapt to build up his strength...and now look at him😁
.
Paul is working so hard and it's exciting to see him develop and become so much fitter...and become a strong lunge-er!!! He always comes armed to his sessions with hilarious stories and never fails to make me laugh...and always challenges me to competitions which ended with me hitting my head on the ceiling when doing pull ups this morning 🤣
.
Thanks Paul for all your hardwork...you're doing amazingly well 🖐
