I’m back!! Did you miss me? I missed chatting with you! I’m feeling all recharged, much more positive and feel like I’ve got a fresh new mindset.
I learnt a few things during my break in Japan. Firstly that I spend wayyyy too much time worrying about social media. And not only that but I spend far too much time sneaking in cheeky checks! I think finding a way to limit those checks is the way forward!
I also learnt that I spend too much time working and not enough time outside. At times, the boundaries between work and personal time get incredibly blurred and I don’t get any down time. My to do list is long, and is continually growing but working non stop and running myself into the ground isn’t going to help me tick things off any quicker.
Today is going to be crazy catch up day and then normal service shall resume, hopefully! What I have missed whilst I’ve been away falling in love with Mt Fuji? What have you been up to? Have you hit any milestones? What’s new? Tell me something positive! 💛
After a second middle of the night vet visit things have improved a lot! It seems the new chemo protocol was too hard for him and we will be addressing that when he’s 100% back to his full superhero self. He is on antibiotics and we will check his blood work again next week. The second visit was needed as he had become badly constipated and needed an enema. He’s a little embarrassed about that, but it’s quite painful. The fever and labored breathing are gone so the oxygen, meds and fluids are working. His cancer is tricky and we were hoping the new chemo would slow the mast cell tumors, but now we need to regroup and get a new game plan. For now he’s happy to be home and (swipe left) even eating! We can’t imagine what it would be like doing all of this without all of you. The love and support is absolutely amazing and we are filled with such gratitude. I will keep updating today for Marlin, but once his superhero powers are recharged he will be back💚🖤💚🖤 Thank you to the team at RBVH @redbankvet especially Dr. Fradkin who took such amazing care of him. 💚 #marlinthebuddhacat#cancerfightingsuperhero#feelingthelove#timetorecharge#chemowarrior#fighter#filledwithgratitude#MarlinNation#friendsarethebestmedicine#loveconquersall
Three days of migraines this week feeling overwhelmed at work to the point of bursting into tears (I work in a very busy pharmacy). Knew that on one of my days off this week I needed to get away and have some space on my own. #york#daytrip#creamtea#timetorecharge
Whilst we have some event down time, we are trying to use this time to reflect and recharge. From Rosie’s message to be brave, speak out and seize the day at the beginning of the week to this - In the seven years the Dots have worked their magic ✨✨, we’ve noticed a thing or two about human interaction and the generalised myths that surround our ability to connect.
For example, sometimes people are reluctant to speak, but this doesn’t mean they don’t want to connect.
Maureen Chiquet, Chanel’s CEO, said it best when she defined this as being able to be: ‘A keen observer, because I wasn’t always the one to raise my hand first or talk the loudest, I watched and took everything in with my senses. It gave me an ability to understand people. To…navigate in this very busy world, where you have to show up, it meant thinking a lot about what I wanted to say and finding the things I could say that have meaning’. There is no right, wrong, good or bad way of creating authentic connections with others. Everyone wants to be heard, just in different ways.
So today, just do you 🙂. Just do what feels right in the moment. Speaking or just listening.
I’ve been enjoying the quiet that has come with choosing to take three weeks off from composing. It’s the first time I’ve properly taken time out - for longer than seven days - from writing for longer than I care to admit.
It’s been really nice to take some time out from writing down little dots on a page, and allow my mind the time and space to wander and dream up new ideas (also a good time to catch up with musical - and general life - admin). With some super exciting projects on the horizon, I’m looking forward to realising these new notes, and have plans for gently beginning new musics next week.
In the midst of all the work and all the deadlines, we can forget that it’s important to take time off to rest. I’m resting. Properly this time. Enjoying the silence and taking joy in the small things. Good conversations had with fellow creatives. Morning coffees sipped slowly. And it is good. .
(I actually looked back through my diary, and the last time I had a proper break from composing was December 2017).
I love it when one of the shining stars & bright lights in your life just pops by to remind you...
That there are no wrong choices.
Thank you @beckblay for the wise & reassuring words 🙏🏼
Have a wonderful day all!
Enjoy your choice-making... Every turn will somehow lead you to where you’re meant to be, whichever way you take...
Xxx ♥️ xxX
Tonight is our Full Buck Moon... its to rainy to see though 🌚 But, the rain is definitely needed and very welcomed.
A few fun facts about the moon phases for July 🌚
* This month will give us two new moons! The first was on July 2nd and the second one will be on the 31st. The second new Moon in a singular month has come to be called a "Black Moon". *July's full Moon was given its name of Full Buck Moon because this is the month that a buck's antlers are in full growth mode. *Farmers Almanac says the best days to cut hay are on the 22, 23 and 24 and the best days for fishing are the 2-16 and the 31.... just in case you're a farmer or a fisherman 🤷🏻♀️
*Lastly, any full Moon is a good time to clean out anything or anyone that isn't bringing you good positive energy!! Release the negative and you will receive the good stuff 💫 #fullmoon#buckmoon#itsjustaphase#farmersalmanac#blackmoon#cleaningout#releaseandreceive#love#namaste#letgo#timetorecharge#laluna#raiseyourvibration#makeyourmagic#moonmagic#peaceandlove ✌❤
Hello there So I’m back after a lovely two weeks away. Sometimes juggling things can take over and you realise you need to take a break.
As well as running Bunting By Jen I work 4 days a week in facilities management, in my final year of a degree and I have health problems that can cause severe fatigue. But after my little break I’m feeling a million times better and ready to start sewing all over again. 😊🧵 Thank you so much for all the orders coming in Over the last two weeks. I’m just working my way through them all now and they will be out to you shortly.
I have also done some social media investigation. I love the @molliemakes social media magazine. It’s given me so many useful hints and tips. I also invested in some fab lenses for my phone so I can do some amazing close ups and will also hopefully be starting to do some videos and blogs very soon. #buntingbyjen#bunting#fabric#holidays#timetorecharge#orders#ordertime#smallbusiness#smallbusinessowner#independentbusinessowner#independentbusiness

Best day ever! 🙌 After 14 days of renovating and moving 24/7 (or so it feels like), Mom and I finally got time for a little walk together in the woods 🌲💚 Had to take it very slowly though, because Mom is SO SOOO tired! Look how nicely and observant I walk beside her 😇
Going to take a break from social media for awhile and recover from the Classic and the rest of the trip. Being around that many people for so long can tiring with social anxiety, and that’s without all that’s involved with doing something like the Classic on top of it. Don’t get me wrong, I had a blast in Indy and getting to see some friends, but it was just a lot to take in.
