Start of your meal with dips & fresh bread, infamous platter for main (totally shareable or they have entrees as well) & end off with baklava, coffee & tea for the full experience😇 Don’t forget the baklava!! It’s actually the bestttt
So, so proud of these women and how they absolutely smashed the course ❤️ Helping each other tackle the obstacles and demonstrating their new strength and athleticism the whole team completed the course and finished it together!
The teamwork this weekend was absolutely fantastic! Successfully completing the 10k run and having a giggle the whole way round!

After my training session, I decided to mix it up a little with my hubby the other day. I’m a little rusty but it just FELT SO GOOD to hit some sh*t! 😆
What I kept thinking about was this: No matter what you do, please don’t ever think this is a game. This is your life and you have to choose how you’re gonna live it.
Are you coasting through? Just existing? Or are you out there making zero excuses, refusing to take no for an answer, testing your limits and living in your purpose?
Besides my life and the lives of the people I love the most - my next prayers are that you all get to experience your life to the fullest. I pray that you will finally realize how strong you are and that you can overcome whatever obstacles are in your path.
Persevere. Push. Do whatever you need to do in order to live your best life. Don’t let anyone put their own limitations on you. They have NO idea what you’re capable of.

You ever have a day, where you are so tired, you don’t think you can stand? You tell yourself, I’ll grab a nap soon just 10 minutes and I’ll be cool. But then things are demanded of you so that never happens? You wonder “how am I gonna get through this next thing?” But you do. I had 4 of those in a row. What kept me going? Giggling from two girls, belly laughing really. The joy of a boy who won his first championship. But after in the car ride home said “Mom, the best part of my first football season wasn’t winning, it was playing with my friends and having fun.” My heart soared. Humility. My amazing friend @andipanda22 for offering to give a ride home to my baby. So I could make spaghetti for the girls. My incredible friend Wendy Hu, for unexpectedly delivering a giant offering of some dumpling I’ve never tried (after I made spaghetti, but now I have dinner for us @sabrinalovejoy ) So many unexpected acts of kindness, when I was so tired. And Lastly if you read this far, my gorgeous bestie Dana Han. Who’s performing tomorrow in the Chinese arts festival. A Qipao show. She tried to get me to perform with her. I’ll be honest. I was intimidated. But maybe the next one? So she’s on at 3 pm. I included the info if you swipe ➡️ we’ll be there. Because I’ll sleep tonight and I’d never miss my bff’s show. Lifting heavy is not a reflection of how big your muscles are or how fit of an athlete you are. Yes those things help, but really strength comes from somewhere a little bit different.
Strength comes from your Central nervous system(brain and spinal cord) in conjunction with your Endocrine system(hormones)
Simply, your body has these things called motor units stashed away for a rainy day.. not so much rainy, think a bull is loose and your wearing red. Think, a woman lifted a car off a baby, type story.
Motor units are recruited from the Central nervous system stash using anabolic hormones from the endocrine system. Once recruited, they are now available to utilize upon request. Motor units activate muscle fibres, which contract and generate force in response to STRESS resulting in POWER. Which means, the more physical stress you put on (the more heavy you lift)… the more heavy you can lift, lol without having to put on a lb of muscle.
Many of you who know me, know I’ve been going through a pretty stressful couple of months(especially the last few weeks lol). So how did I prep for my Lift4Kids powerlifting competition?
Meditation, mobility, relaxing and sleeping LMAO. When your stressed, your body really doesn’t know whether it’s physical or mental STRESS, so it releases the same fight or flight hormones for either scenarios.
If your STRESSED, you practically run on adrenaline and epinephrine.If these two are over utilized, you won't be able to use them to help with the motor unit recruitment.
AKA. NO PRS.
Stress also affects fatloss, and hypertrophy.
