🌲 Going out into the world is scary and incredible and uncertain and life-changing.
It's everything that my comfort zone isn't.
To be honest, I do a lot of things I'm scared of. I take many risks, and sometimes I'm a bit reckless.
There are so many things I don't even want to try because fear creeps in and suddenly I hear all these voices in my head that try to convince me not to do it.
I hear the voices of other people who are scared, I hear stories I've been told for so many years about how the world is a dangerous place.
Following my heart anyways is not always easy because it requires me to unlearn these stories and overcome my fears. But it's always worth it.
Travelling must be one of the greatest experiences of my life - both the amazing adventures and the difficult times.
There are so many places I have yet to visit. I want to see it all. The good and the bad. the slums and the beautiful resorts. the full spectrum. 👣 This year I'm going to travel to a number of places I've never been to before.
I'm home where my roots are, but I'm also home on the road.
Are you travelling this year?
Where are you going?
Die Deutsches Eck (The German Corner), where the Rhein meets the Mosel, is one of the most famous headlands in the world.
The Mother Moselle, famous for his Riesling vineyards, joins with the Father Rhein to form this impressive basin.
Boats flow back and forth from the most Western to most Southern edge of Germany, both rivers a lifeline that's stitches together a nation, the Eck is a symbol of German unity both imperial and contemporary.
Today was going to be a scorcher! So we took ourselves off to Rothenberg - a gorgeous town full of hidden nooks, stunning old school German architecture and quaint little shops. It was just
bursting with character at every turn! The cute toy shops were a favourite with the kids. Oh and the ice cream shops too! Plus we tried a traditional pastry called a Schneeball made from shortcrust pastry - sugar highs all round!
One of the best parts was the park. It was something else! It was perched up high and the views stretched for miles with beautiful landscape laid out before us.
If I had told myself this time last year I would be standing in a German gem like this with my family I wouldn't believe it!

I love a hike with a stream to accompany me - especially one that's flowing through such picturesque surroundings. The River Inde flows right by Aachen and has helped create these beautiful trails right outside the town.
A magnificent day for hiking just outside of Aachen - this was the start of the trail which then went past the River Inde. Not sure if this is part of the same ecosystem as the Eifel National Park - however, it was quite a treat to spend the afternoon!
Apparently, there is a crazy competition going on between Cologne and Düsseldorf. They compete over every small thing, like whose beer is the best, #kölsch or #altbier , but if you think about it, in Germany beer is a big deal 😄Kölner say the best thing about Düsseldorf is the road to Köln, and Düsseldorf takes its pride in being the capital of Nordrhein-Westfalen. There is even an article in Wikipedia about this historic rivalry, so it’s quite serious and has been going on for ages, and sometimes also funny. I am personally a fan of both cities, they are unbelievable and really different, even though they are just 40 km far from each other. #kölnliebe#kölnstagram#kölnbridge#kölnbrücke#travelstroke#inlovewithgermany#travelphotography#travelgermany#traveleurope
