Landmark : Sa-I-Mika resort & Dainthlen Falls. Take left from Dainthlen Falls for 1.5kms to reach its starting point. ••To reach the fall,Start trekking for almost 15-20mins (1km) that requires an average level of fitness. The trek then takes a steep descent to the base of the fall aided by a good number of wooden/bamboo staircases and handrails for almost 500m.The ascend back to the main road is,therefore, more challenging that might leave you with sore legs but with a view to cherish forever. Not recommended for the People having arthritis/severe knee/leg pain.
Beauty of the fall is treacherous and it has three large steps with a deep drop in the centre of each step. You can also climb up to the middle layer but that would not be allowed in monsoon. This green-blue multilayered waterfall deserves to be in your bucket list whenever you visit Meghalaya.
Bosco verticale (Vertical Forest) is composed of two residential towers respectively 111 metres and 78 metres high designed by Boeri Studio (Stefano Boeri, Gianandrea Barreca and Giovanni La Varra). These two prestigious buildings, that cultivate more than 900 species of trees (approximately 550 trees in the first tower and 350 in the second) on 8900 m² of staggered terraces, is an active interface to the surrounding environment. It is a metropolitan reforestation project that contributes to the regeneration of the environment and the biodiversity.
The Bosco Verticale is a system that optimizes, recuperates, and produces energy. Covered in plant life, the building aids in balancing the microclimate and in filtering the dust particles contained in the urban environment (Milan is one of the most polluted cities in Europe). The diversity of the plants and their characteristics produce humidity, absorb CO2 and dust particles, producing oxygen and protect the building from radiation and acoustic pollution. This not only improves the quality of living spaces, but gives way to dramatic energy savings year round.
The construction won the 2014 International Highrise Award and is 2015’s Best Tall Building Worldwide as announced by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) on the 13th of November, one of the most prestigious architectural prizes of the year.
