Kannur district, situated in the Paithalmala valley close to the Kerala-Karnataka border, located at about 52 Km Northeast of Kannur via Sreekandapuram and Kudiyanmala (and about 38 Km Northeast of Taliparamba). It comprises of seven levels of rocky natural pools of varying sizes and depths that contain crystal clear water for most period of the year (The gentle flow of clear water cascades in seven tiers creating beautiful clear pools at the end of each fall). We travelled for about 30 min from Palakkayam Thattu in the jeep that we hired from Mandalam base to go to Palakkayam Thattu and after travelling about 11 Km East to Northeast, after crossing Kudiyanmala, en route to Paithalmala, we reached this falls. It’s a beautiful place to go dipping amidst the rocky terrain and we could see some tourists enjoy diving into the rocky pool to swim gloriously. The sites of the falls are not so noticeable when one passes by road, except the base station and the adjoining upper tiers. When we visited in the noon, beautiful rainbow formation on the rocks by the flow of clear water falls was panoramic.

Marks an end of our first schedule. "Child of Nature" is the movie we are working on. it's a simple documentary which will touch all the sensitive elements of the village. A nostalgic movie which reminds all your village memories and at the same time it will haunt how it has changed over time.
