  • How do we handle nap schedules on the go? That’s easy, we just drag our kids around until they literally pass out from exhaustion. It’s the nomadic family version of driving a kid around the neighborhood. Ours just ends in rice terraces in Bali instead of a McDonald’s parking lot. Rice and fries, both sleep inducing starches so I really don’t see any difference. #totallythesame #wouldyoulikefrieswiththat #supersizednap #droolincluded

  • Inhale - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ....
Exhale - 1, 2.... Do you take the time to breathe properly? I certainly don’t but it’s something I’m becoming more aware of. The idea of taking a 7 second long inhalation is to breathe in all things around positivity - love, hope, abundance etc.

Then you exhale quite rapidly and loudly for a quick 2 seconds to let go of all the crap that no longer serves you.

This is called conscious breathing and something I’ve just started to touch base in therapy.
Over the last week, I have put it to practice regularly and doing it alongside H on the beach definitely worked wonders - for the both of us.
If you have a spare 9 seconds - I highly recommend you try it 🙃

  • Proud of these little entrepreneurs! Today they spent 3 hours selling lemonade, spam musubi, and apple bananas on the North Shore and made $80! Paisley is the queen of sales at age 7.

  • One of my big life goals is to take my kids on a journey of discovery. To travel and experience cultures that differ to our own, visit the countries their parents heritage stem from and just have a tipping good life.
We haven’t quite reached an opportunity for the big trips. But we will. I’m planning. We are planning. It will happen!
Where would your first stop be, anywhere in the world?

  • Little boy on a big safari! As our safari adventure unfolds, it has been so sweet watching him grow from a baby-in-arms to a headstrong toddler! Swipe right to see baby Benjy back in Jan 2018 just a few days after arriving in Tsavo for the first time. #growingup #masaimara #kenya #salascamp #tsavoeast

  • We really loved our time in Giza exploring the pyramids! Yes, the town itself is a little dirty, dusty and chaotic, and some people might feel overwhelmed by how different everything is. But the reality is that people are truly warm and welcoming and the city is very safe for tourists. ⠀⠀
Pro tips for visiting the pyramids on your own: ▫️
.
➡️Many people worry about touts at the pyramids. In our experience, people will approach you to offer things for sale or camel rides, but they will leave you alone if you decline politely and with a smile. It might take a few “no thank yous” for people to go away, but we never felt threatened and people were never aggressive. Just be friendly and courteous! If they ask your name or where you’re from (which they will), it’s fine to answer. Just keep moving and be polite and firm and they’ll wish you a nice visit to Egypt and then move on.▫️
➡️Know where to go. Information is power, and knowing what to do will give you the confidence to turn down people’s offers for help. There’s tons of information online about visiting the pyramids.▫️
➡️Buy your entrance tickets at one of the two main entrances of the pyramids and don’t listen to people who tell you you need a camel or horse to reach the pyramids. We walked there with two little kids and it was totally fine. ▫️
➡️Be kind in your interactions with people. People are trying to make a living and tourists bring money into the community. You are more likely to get what you want if you approach people with a smile (or turn them down with one!) ▫️

  • We were taking our last trip up the mountain for our last ride on the luge. It was packed but well managed and we all scooted down easily. Whilst it says no racing that’s a given with boys - yes? If you get the opportunity do the @skylinelugesentosa it was a blast. The view which wasn’t here because husband played silly buggers was an added bonus.

A must to visit when on @hamiltonisland (bookings essential via the HI app) The views are beautiful and the food never disappoints. South east Asia/street food flavors coupled with Catseye Beach views it’s a great combination. [great vego options available, too, like this delish cauliflower + wild rice curry]

  • A symbol of resilience. That Wanaka Tree is a lone crooked tree growing out of the lake. We had the rare good fortune to visit it a couple of years ago, and found it all alone, without the hordes of tourists and photographers that usually crowd the tree. It was winter, and tides were low so we could walk right up to it. I hope he will grow with the same unbreakable spirit, dig his roots deep, and thrive against all odds. I love this photo of Tyler under That Wanaka Tree, Travel is the best Education, always. #lovemom🌈 #wanderlust #thatwanakatree #travelphotography #familytravel #travelgram #travelwithkids #travelmom #momofboys #newzealand
