  • We're going light on crew this year. Just D to crew and my girl B to pace. It makes me nervous as all hell. That 3-5 minutes of interaction with a friendly face is a HUGE mental boost when you're facing hot temps and blazing sun. That special treat you can only get from your crew and a nice cold towel thrown on your head while you beam with happiness at the chaos around you. When you come up to them at MB and say "I don't got this" and they give you a big hug even though you smell like 12 hours of trail and say "you so have this, just keep moving"

Even simply things are harder this year. Like will someone meet me at Bath Rd where I've historically been in rotten shape? What if D misses RF and I see no one until Foresthill hill? Remember the shoe fiasco where I broke some toes? What about B twisting an ankle? It's hard not to look at other runner's crews with a smidge of sadness that I didn't feel comfortable asking for help this year as I was so unsure how my training block would go. I AM SO BAD AT ASKING FOR HELP.  I guess that's an ultra for you. Nothing to do but be in the moment, thank the awesome volunteers at aid stations, run with gratitude, and not worry about it until we get there and troubleshoot if shit does go down

Oh and if anyone sees runner 207, please throw some extra cheer at me (and some cold water on me)

  • I'm one month in a new core workout program with @abragaperf  and I can already feel the results!

Core workout is not just about doing crunches! It's way more complex than that, and it's super important for cyclists! Not only to have a good "injury free position" on the bike, but also to have a better power transfer to the pedals!

Huge big up to Andrea for working on that with me! He's a cyclist too and know what he's talking about! (on top of being an elite Salomon team ultra runner!) #coreworkout #innerme #TCRNo7 #tcrnprep #tcrno7riders #bikingman #ultracycling #ultralife #lifebehindbars #endurancetraining

  • 20 mile out and back canal run today, wanted to get to Wendover but didn’t have enough time, nice to get down the canal though it’s been a while. Had a bit on my mind and needed to process it so no music today (until the last few miles for distraction) Thought I would see how far I could go without eating just drinking tailwind and @nordiqnutrition before the run got to 17 miles before I felt I needed a quick bite. Not bad as I didn’t eat before I went out either, I was going at a steady pace. 20 miles 3hrs10mins happy Sunday people. #ultrarunner #ultralife #run #runner #runtobehappy #runtoremember #runtothink #runningismytherapy #rethinkmentalillness

  • Today 20 miler consisted of...wet rain and nausea 😂🙈🤢 followed by a 2.5 hour round trip to find fuel and food! All great training though! 🙈🙈🙈 #soulrunning
