💼How to build case studies?
———⁣
⁣
Case study is basically another «design project», but how to build it?⁣
First of all, think about your viewer!⁣
⁣
———⁣
➡️ TELL A STORY!⁣
———⁣
⁣
⁣
To make it easier for you, I’ll explain the «Case study» on the common storytelling technique:⁣
♦️«Three Act Structure»⁣
Every story is made of 3 parts:⁣
——⁣
1️⃣ Setup⁣
2️⃣ Confrontation⁣
3️⃣ Resolution⁣
⁣
⁣
⁣
1️⃣ Setup (context)⁣
———⁣
📍What was this project about?⁣
📍Who’s a client?⁣
📍Who’s a hero (user)?⁣
📍What were their goals?⁣
📍What was your role and your plan?⁣
⁣
⁣
2️⃣ Confrontation (process and thinking)⁣
———⁣
📍What was your user research process?⁣
📍What were your insights?⁣
📍How did these insights informed your solution?⁣
📍What were your solution hypothesis that you wanted to test?⁣
⁣
⁣
3️⃣ Resolution (testing and results)⁣
———⁣
📍How did the user testing went?⁣
📍What were the detected issues?⁣
📍How did you work with issues?⁣
📍What were the project results and success metrics?⁣
⁣
⁣
———⁣
➡️ Do you know someone who created compelling «case studies»? Tag them in the comments!⁣

  • As a follow up to my post from a few days ago, I felt we could all benefit from some further clarification on the terms UX vs. UI (along with several other buzz terms that are loosely understood, even by many people who work in the creative industry). I hope this helps clear some things up for you! There is no way around some overlap as all these things contribute to the overall user experience. -
-
✅ User Experience Design (UX): The experience that a person has as they interact with a product. UX is an umbrella term that encompasses all of the other types of design to create a user’s experience with a company, product, or service.
-
-
✅ User Interface Design (UI): The look and feel of a product designed to enhance the customer experience. UI is an umbrella term that encompasses all of the elements the make up the visual and tactile delivery of a user experience.
-
-
✅ Content Strategy: Identification of content types and strategy to deliver them to a target audience.
-
-
✅ Information Architecture (IA): The manner in which content is organized.
-
-
✅ Interaction Design (IxD): The physical interaction a user has with a product.
-
-
✅ Motion Design: Utilization of motion to enhance a user experience and delivery of content.

  • ⚡ Little Things You Probably Forgot To Design
———⁣
This list is about the little details that help deliver a really great and awesome user experience. Also, these things make your work look way more professional and provide a better experience for the user.
———⁣
1. Different button states
Button states provide key information to your users and communicate what's possible in a user interface.
———⁣
2. Animations & Transitions
They are used to show interactions between screens, explains how to use the application or simply directs a user’s attention.
———⁣
3. Empty States
Empty states are a way to improve the user experience of your product, from onboarding to encouraging users to interact with your app.
———⁣
4. The Error States
Error states help us recognize the reason we made a mistake so that we can be conscious next time and would avoid making it again.
———⁣
5. Progress Bars
Progress bars make the wait less boring also show us the progression of an operation.
———⁣
6. The “Delete My Account” Option
A well designed Delete Account Page can lead to the user coming back later or even rethinking their decision.
———⁣
7. The Profile Photo Cropping Tool
Not all users have professional photos and not all of them are face-centered, a photo that is not well cropped is worst than a profile without photo.
———⁣
8. The 404 Page
This page informs the user that the webpage was removed or moved, or the URL was typed incorrectly.
———⁣
9. The Welcome Email
