We don’t need to over train our muscles constantly. Try this home workout to lengthen + strengthen your entire body. Repeat each movement SLOWLY. Trust me when I say it’s more challenging than it looks 😂😂😂. .
1. Single leg wall lunges. 10 per leg.
3. Kick backs and side extensions. 30 per leg.
4. Downward dog single leg push ups. 10 per leg.
5. Push up to side plank with hip opener. 5 per side. .
REPEAT 4 TIMES. .
Create a body which is super STRONG and super FLEXIBLE. .
When we have regular routines our body goes into automatization of a learned skill mode or auto-pilot. We can complete tasks through our muscle memory without really tapping into our cognitive functions. .
The same principle can be applied to our work functions. The routine becomes automatic and we disconnect. The good news is most humans are curious and seek out simulation. “We like new stuff and to figure out things.” As leaders, how can you tap into this part of your talents motivational skill set?
One solution is to have a set time and/or place for an innovative idea exchange. I like a whiteboard and post it notes with three categories: problems, solutions, and wishes. Once a quarter it gets cleared with a do or not or not yet at our professional development day. Everyone’s opinion is of equal value therefore equitable. As an added bonus, there is no risk of group think as each idea is stand alone. I’m always impressed by the richness of our talent pool especially in this simple connection opportunity. .
Our morning routine may be automatized but our work culture does not need to be. .
