So. I turned 28 Monday. That was fun. I’m really excited about this new year of life. The goal is to make a lot of things different than they have been. Pray for that please 😊
Also these will be the last Hawaii photos I post for a minute bc I’m ready to post other things 😂 thanks for the love and support on these!! This was definitely one of the most epic moments of the entire trip. This section of mountains has some rich mythology history story that I wish I could remember but also, this peak is only visible 30 days out of the entire year, and we got to see it. How amazing. Swipe and enjoy 😊

“Mom, when i grow up i wanna be a fire fighter👩🏻🚒”
And of course i tell her absolutley she csn be whatever she wants to be.
But why not me?? What example am i setting by not being who/what/where i want to be??
It really hit me that if i want my daughters to grow up and have dreams, visions, goals, and live up to who they are called to be, I’ve got to do it too.
It’s never too late to have dreams.
It’s never too late to set goals.
Your kids just want you to be happy. They don’t care about your title, the amount of money you make, the material things. Those things don’t matter to them, ultimately they just want to be happy and they want to see you be happy.
Is what you’re doing bringing you joy?? If it’s not, you owe it to yourself and to your babies to do what makes your heart smile.
It might seem unreachable, impossible. But you don’t know unless you try it.
Do the simple things it will take everyday to build that dream. And don’t stop until it manifests.

Have you ever seen this gorgeous waterfall on Kauai?
I live in Hilo, Hawaii as most of you know. I moved here in the 80’s from Fiji and left in the 90’s for Macau. I came back in 2017.
Growing up in Fiji before Hawai’i was a powerful platform from which I could see how a Pacific Island nation could be, should be. Free, proud, speaking their own language, eating the foods native to their land and seas.
When I first came to Hawai’i, nothing shocked me so much as the suffocating layer of Western culture. It seemed like everything was lost.
What is going on now on Mauna Kea is important. Even if you don’t live in Hawai’i, there is much to learn about history, about being an ally, about justice, about kapu aloha and protest, action. It seems fitting to share this on Climate Strike, as we clamor for a New Green Deal, for environmental justice, protection of biodiversity, sustainable agriculture and respect of indigenous land.

It’s story time!
Nicolina and Peter met in high school, as they were both taking summer school where a mutual friend introduced them. But, it wasn’t until senior year when they got to know one another more and started dating. They both went to University of Hawaii where they took an astronomy class together. Fast forward to this past summer, Nikki and Peter watched another meteor shower together at this spot. The spot where Peter asked Nikki to marry her...and she said yes! So we all met up and drove out to this spot on the North Shore and documented this special time at this special place.
Where is your special place?! Let me know👇🏻

It’s been years but I was finally able to see the corpse flower bloom! It is called this because when it blooms, it emits a smell that’s similar to rotting meat and this corm blooms to be around 6-7 feet on average.
Sadly when we went, it didn’t smell like anything because this smell is intermittent. Also, it was interesting to find out that this flower prior to blooming, heats up to the same temperature as a human body (98 degrees). Weird coincidence!
Another beautiful day on the water! Instructor Jake teaching the skills to non certified divers. They all had a blast and we love showing our world to new people. Keep our dive family growing by joining us to see the underwater world! Book online at reefpirates.com or call us at 808-348-2700
