  • After biking up to a Mt fuji lookout at 3am on my return ride I was able to get here before any crowds arrived. I sat on the edge taking it all in/eating breakfast. I forgot to take any photos before horrible light hit so it meant another trip to come back and get the right light the following day. At least I saw it twice || @sonyaustralia #a7riii + FE 16-35mm f/4

  • What has been your favourite vacation so far?
.
..
Mine has been Iceland. Honestly, I didn’t have really high hopes. It was our first adventure vacation and I had no idea what to expect. But, once arriving, I was stunned at the scale of the land. It was a lot to take in. After exploring for 2 weeks, I didn’t want to leave. I could have stayed for months and months. (If we had the money for it 🤣)
.
..
For me, Iceland is definitely a place I’ll go back to again and again! This is a cave I cannot spell that was featured in Game of Thrones. If you watch the show you will remember this cave 😉

  • Butter wouldn’t melt.
Thomas, always looking innocent.
Marv, always looking shook. 😂
- As always... zoom in on the face.
.

I’m shocked that we all don’t smell like smoked kippers today. There’s quite the wildfire raging in Speyside at the moment. Plenty of miles from us but we’re copping the smoke and ash!
And being an Aussie, we get VERY PARANOID about fires!!! Regardless of it being miles away we still have an evacuation plan. Grab the pets and jump in the van and LEG IT.
Much love to the firefighters including the raft of volunteer firies. 🤘❤️

  • Somewhere towards the mid-end of my second trimester, being conscious to not count weeks too closely. I want to feel wild about this pregnancy, uncalculated and freeing. Minding not what’s on paper, but what’s in my heart and intuition.

We took a drive to my favorite greenhouse, where plants are rogue and abundant. Cacti and philodendron and calathea share the same air space. Naturally we celebrated “nothing much” by adopting a 4’ tall cathedral cactus, while light rain danced on the roof. 🌵

  • Deep inside, we are all nomadic! With @kpunkka / We, as a human species, have spent the 95% of our existence hunting and gathering. We were built for long-distance walking!

For 2.5 million years “humans fed themselves by gathering plants and hunting animals that lived and bred without their intervention. Homo erectus, Homo ergaster and the Neanderthals plucked wild figs and hunted wild sheep without deciding where fig trees would take root, in which meadow a herd of sheep should graze, or which billy goat would inseminate which nanny goat.” Our ancestors experienced this lifestyle for more than 40,000 generations!

So, doing regular physical exercise was and still is part of who we are as an animal species.

Perhaps this is why scientific studies continue to support the growing literature suggesting that exercise and physical activity interventions have beneficial effects across several physical and mental-health outcomes. Actually, physical activity is associated with better quality of life and health outcomes.

As Homo sapiens spread from East Africa to the rest of the world, reaching 12,000 years ago America, Sapiens continued to live by gathering wild plants and hunting wild animals.

But about 10,000 years ago, or the 5% of our time as an animal species, our lifestyle changed completely. Sapiens began to focus their time and effort “to manipulating the lives of a few animals and plant species. From sunrise to sunset humans sowed seeds, watered plants, plucked weeds from the ground and led sheep to prime pastures.” The agricultural revolution changed our lifestyle as a species, forever.

Special greetings to @kpunkka for sharing this wonderful view with us! If you also want to be featured you can tag us or use #nomadict in your posts!
