👉Dookie is the third studio album and major label debut by American rock band Green Day, released on February 1, 1994 by Reprise Records. The band's first collaboration with producer Rob Cavallo, it was recorded in late 1993 at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California. Written mostly by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, the album is mostly based around his personal experiences, with themes such as boredom, anxiety, relationships, and sexuality. The album was promoted with five singles: "Longview", "Basket Case", a re-recorded version of "Welcome to Paradise", "When I Come Around", and the radio-only "She"
What do you get if you take three original members and add singer Ian Gillan of Deep Purple fame? You get Black Sabbath - Born Again (1983). This is in my opinion the best #blacksabbath album. Yes, the best!
Yes, the mix is muffly and the cover is ugly but the songs... the songs are great and Gillan sings fantastic. What a band. What a lineup. Most critics didn’t like the album but it sold really well and reached no 4 in the UK charts. We have tracks like Disturbing The Priest, Hot Line, Zero The Hero and the brilliant title track. Live they sounded great too. There are so many great stories about the recording and the tour and I can’t tell them all. But Stonehenge, bombs, crashed cars, sunken boats, druids, a dwarf dressed as the baby are just some of them😊
Let me know what you think of the album.
Fun fact: Guns n Roses used the riff from Zero The Hero in their song Paradise City.
👉 Celebrity Skin is the third studio album by American alternative rock band Hole, released worldwide on September 8, 1998 on Geffen Records and one day later in the United States on DGC Records. It was the last album released by the band before their dissolution in 2002. Hole intended the record to diverge significantly from their previous noise and grunge-influenced sound as featured on Pretty on the Inside (1991) and Live Through This (1994). The band hired producer Michael Beinhorn to record Celebrity Skin over a nine-month period that included sessions in California, New York and the United Kingdom. It was the band's only studio release to feature bassist Melissa Auf der Maur. Drummer Patty Schemel played the demos for the album, but was replaced by session drummer Deen Castronovo at the suggestion of producer Beinhorn. This issue created a rift between Schemel and the band, resulting in her dropping out of the tour and parting ways with the group.
Signed copy of "The Beast" - Paul Di-Anno, former frontman of Iron Maiden, autobiography.
Paul D'Ianno is one of rock 'n' roll's wildest, most notorious figures. In his autobiography, "The Beast" reveals the shocking stories of his life one road, including the night he shot out a passing motorist's tyres with rifle and the truth about his arrest for carrying a sub-machine gun. His tales one of drugs, guns, alcohol; of extended periods banged up in a US Federalenitentiary; and of course his time fronting one of the biggest rock groups all time - Iron Maiden.; Paul's antics off-stage are even more shocking than his behaviour on-stage. He truly is a man who makes Led Zepplin look like a bunch of convent girls. He has lived a life treading the fine line of the law, and has battled through crazed drug addictions from the heights of worldwide fame to the pit of bankruptcy and beyond.; This book is a look into the dark and disturbing times of a man who has spent his whole life courting his demons. Unfortunatly those demons always seemed to have got the upper hand
Buster and Toby and the end of the Kinks’s theatrical period. Also, generally the end of my familiarity with their work (with a few exceptions). The Kinks, The Kinks present Schoolboys in Disgrace, 1975.
