The Doors - The Soft Parade (50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)
Well, the ever amazing @rhino_records has knocked it out of the park again with this box set!
The Soft Parade was the band's fourth album, originally released in July of 1969. I've always enjoyed it - despite it being a departure from their other work ('Touch Me' from this album is one of my favourite Doors songs). It was recorded right after a grueling tour and at a time when Jim Morrison was deep into his struggles with alcoholism and other mental health issues and not doing much songwriting. As a result guitarist Robby Krieger wrote many of the songs for the album.
This deluxe edition set includes the LP, as well as three CDs (the newly remastered album plus lots of bonus material). Amongst the bonus material are previously unreleased versions of songs and studio outtakes (those that follow me may already know of my love and fascination of studio outtakes and alternate versions of songs). My favourites of the bonus tracks are the stripped down "Doors Only" versions.
Please see the link in my bio to get your own copy of this set or to take a listen.
So what are your thoughts on this album? What are your personal top Doors albums?
Today, we need to blow 16 candles out and make a wish, ‘cause it’s @blink182 ’s untitled 5th studio album #Sweet16 !!! 🤘🏼😍🖤💗
One of my #Top10 albums in this world without a doubt! It was released on November 18, 2003 by Geffen Records. I can’t believe it’s more than a decade and a half since @markhoppus@travisbarker and @tomdelonge gifted us with this amazing album! This album was recorded after major changes in the band, and it was a conscious attempt to rebuild and reinvent their style! It split their existing fans, and also gave them new ones! In my case, as an old fan, I loved them even more, as it became my Blink-182 favorite album! It was the 2nd album I purchased in my life (on CD format) right after “Just Push Play” which was my first, both at the short age of 13.
During those years, I was experimenting big changes on my life as well. Entering to adolescence, and many of the lyrics in this album spoke volumes to me. I also felt pretty identified with it’s sound. It was in that time of my life when I started to create that strong bond with rock in my life, and this album is one of the reasons why I became passionate about this unreal genre.
This time, I’m showing you guys one of the gems of my vinyl collection! My Blink-182 “Untitled” Special Edition Pink Vinyl, limited to ONLY 100 COPIES WORLDWIDE! Isn’t it too fucking pretty?! 😍💗
My favorite songs?
“I Miss You”, “Always” and “Feeling This”.
What about yours? What do you think of this album? Let me know in the comments! #RockNRollRevolution
We are so close to completing our Supertramp collection! While not all are pictured here, I have every album except Free as a Bird. Breakfast in America is the first Supertramp album I remember listening but we spin them all equally in our house. It’s always a good time for some great music! •

Thank you all for the recommendations, I finally settled for these three. Now I've only 7 days to thoroughly listen to them all before it's time to see Rival Sons live. I'll start with P&T which seems to be the favorite amongst many of you.

Happy belated birthday to @kirkhammett 🔥🎸, thrash guitarist extraordinaire & one of my favorite guitarists of all time + TODAY is the 35th Anniversary of the RE-release of @metallica ‘s “Ride The Lightning” which as most of you know is my 2nd favorite album of ALL time 🖤⚡️ Metallica’s equipment was stolen after one of the promo shows for their debut album “Kill Em All (1983).” The band & their record label could not afford to purchase new equipment. They ended up recording their 2nd album on borrowed equipment. “Ride the Lightning” was released on July 27th, 1984 w/ Megaforce records. Lack of financial backing & promoing caused Metallica to search for other assistance. @elektrarecords came a knocking & offered to help re-promote the album & re-release the album on their world renowned record label. Elektra Records re-released the album on November 19th, 1984. And the rest is history!!!Here is my Metallica collection 🥰 this picture was actually taken the day I saw Metallica for the first time back in January of this year & I have actually sold one of my Elektra RTL OG copies (located on the floor next to my leg) & I bought the copy of Metallica’s “All Within My Hands” limited edition live album. I am holding the OP pressing of RTL which was released on Megaforce records. I also own the OP of Kill Em All on Megaforce, Self-Titled on Vertigo, Master Of Puppets on Elektra, & ...And Justice For All on Elektra. All the others are represses. Metallica is my 2nd favorite band of all time. They absolutely changed my entire life when I started getting deeper into their catalog. There’s a lot of hate for the 90s records & I can say that some of it is trash but there’s also a lot I adore. “Bleeding Me” is ❤️ Loving Metallica has changed my life for the best & I hope that if you haven’t given them the chance that you take time & do so! I 100% recommend starting with the first three albums 🖤 oh as a special treat, swipe to hear concert clips of the boys performing some of my faves from their BHAM concert! 🖤
What are your faves from Metallica?! 🖤 what are your favorite bands and songs of all time?! 🎸⚡️ #metallica#vinyl#vinylettes#kirkhammett

Jason Lytle - Your Truly, The Commuter | ANTI | 2009
Debut solo album from Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle.
It's an perfect album to chill on with electronic and acoustic instruments nicely combined.
I play this record a lot this season. It's a perfect mood-setter for thos cold clear autumn days
Even though I had the King pressing of this classic I could not resist when I saw this beautiful NM 1966 Liberty Van Gelder pressing. Although the King is no slouch, Miles' trumpet is juicier on the Liberty.
Here’s to You is a song written by Ennio Morricone and Joan Baez for the soundtrack of the movie Sacco & Vanzetti. As the movie itself, the song is a tribute to the eponymous characters: Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti.
Sacco and Vanzetti were two Italian immigrants to the U.S. who were judged and executed in the 1920s. It has been concluded that they were sentenced in that way due to their political beliefs, which were primarily anarchist. The lyrics are inspired in a statement that is attributed to Vanzetti.
The song has not only been featured in the movie but in other media: It’s been covered by several artists, appeared in other films and even in videogames: I happened to know all this story because of its use in the Metal Gear saga.
With its short mantra-like lyrics and repeated musical phrase, the song has not only addresses the people it mentions, but also requires us to remember what delivering “justice” wrongly is and the suffering it might cause.
