  • On the northern border between Vietnam and China are the magical Bản Giốc Waterfalls. The falls are 30 meters high and 300 meters across, making them one of the largest border crossing waterfalls in the world. 💦 Cao Bằng is drawing more and more adventurous travellers like @nostalgikc, who beautifully captured the walkway down to Bản Giốc.⠀

  • After 2 days of hiking through the largest cave in the world we reached what they call a doline, a large sucken-in area where a cave roof has collapsed. To see this virtually untouched jungle, complete with birds, wildlife, and even its own mini-weather system, inside a cave was definitely one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
.
And speaking of once-in-a-lifetime... today is Ashley’s birthday (and the day that we first met). Being able to experience life with you the last 9 years has truly been the most amazing almost-decade that anyone could ask for. Happy birthday, my love 😘

  • Imagine waking up in the 3rd largest cave in the world! 😮 For the members of the Hang Én cave expeditions in #VietnamNOW this literally is their reality. @chad_gerber commented, “What a way to wake up by unzipping your tent, grabbing a ginger tea and having a walk around before venturing deeper into the cave.” We’re sold.⠀

  • The gang’s all here! This fleet of fishing boats off the coast of Phú Quốc is quite the colourful bunch. 😎⠀
.⠀
Phú Quốc is known for its delicious seafood, with a new catch brought in by local fishermen each day. Feast on grilled squid, tamarind prawns and the island’s favourite noodle soup: bún quẩy. For views just like this, take a ride on the Sun World cable car to Hòn Thơm Island! Photo by @christianbergphotography for Vietnam Tourism Board.⠀

Once dried it will be carried by truck to #hanoi factories and processed into furniture to be exported to Europe & US markets.

  • Part 2: Vietnam 🇻🇳 -
Picture the scene: 4 female teenage backpackers, keen to carry on partying (most bars/clubs shut around midnight in Asia) following a local brandishing a bell attached to a stick- along with several other holidaymakers- to an abandoned warehouse. The walk took us across a dual carriage way and out of the main city. Only a day before, we had heard stories of attempted muggings and kidnappings in the same place. -
It sounds exactly like a horror film and precisely the kind of venture my mother had warned against.
Luckily, we were lead to some form of seedy club and made the bold decision to leave promptly after arrival. Thanks to ‘maps me’- a great app for downloading maps, anywhere in the world- we made it back to the hostel with a story to tell. -
Vietnam is one of my favourite countries in SE Asia; everything from its food, to its landscape, the people and it’s divergent cities to the history and culture. Even the sleeper trains seem to be more luxurious than those we had experienced in Thailand! -
Vietnam is a fabulous starting point for anyone who wants to explore SE Asia. You could even explore the country on its own within two weeks! Vietnam is also home to my favourite food- fresh spring rolls 🤤🤤🤤
-
Places to visit:
- Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon): visit for the war museums and some sexy street food 🤓
- Nah Trang: a nice spot for snorkelling and some beachy nightlife 🐟🐠
- Hoi An: a world heritage site, my favourite city due to the infamous lanterns and fabulous tailors. There is a surprising amount to do here and the nightlife is good. It has an INSANE night market so save space in your luggage!🎈
- Hue: I wouldn’t bother returning, although you can visit an abandoned water park or the imperial city from here 😊
- Halong Bay: a must see for the incredible cliffs and blue water. I’d recommend taking a boat cruise instead of booking a hotel⛵️
- Hanoi: the capital. A few temples to see but not much else 🤭

i bambini comandano indisturbati sui genitori 😁

Niedopisane 10 powodów miłości mej do Wietnamu. Hej! I co? I jajco. No to co? Ja mam wakacje całe życie, czego wszystkim życzę. Gdzie?

  • The Floating Villages of Halong Bay. This community of 3,000 people live separate to the main land, fishing and caring for themselves with no help from the “outside” (including no medical care and electricity). Like us, they make friends with their neighbours, have pet dogs and even collect pet fish! Each house has a lucky charm in their possession, a 1.5 meter long fish, kept within their property! Such a different way of life, but definitely an interesting one.

  • 06/08/2018. The Perfume River Vietnam. So called because the orchid leaves upstream of the city of Huế fall into the river in late autumn, creating an aromatic perfume smell along the riverbanks. Much of the foreground is Thừa Thiên-Huế Province, North Central Vietnam with the mountainous backdrop of Laos. #visitvietnam #gadventures #potd #travel #asia #vietnam #besttripever #igers @tamhb89

.

  • Exciting news! Neeko and I have left the hectic city of Hanoi for the lovely beach town Hoi An (well at least for the next couple of months... maybe a little more 🤭). For the next month, we are lucky enough to be able to do a workaway with @hidden.hoian . Our primary duties will be to seek out and experience the highlights of Hoi An and share our experience through vlogs and posts on their blog. Make sure to check out their blog for all the inside scoops if you’re ever in town!

Our first task was to pay a visit to Mr. Tan @taboobambooworkshop . This incredible man creates everything you could imagine out of bamboo! From working golf carts to cups, and even his own home for his family, he has created it ~ and all with stunning style. Offering to share his craft, his workshop is available to locals and tourists alike, where you can make your very own bamboo creations!

So with all this creative excitement, I have decided that I am going to attempt vlogging for my own personal fun and to be able to share this new adventure with y’all. You guys, I’m a total noob at this so don’t expect some grand production, but it will at the very least be humorous 🙈
Release date coming soon! x
