💙Yesterday my fiance & I started our first Sunday routine together. We have now made Sundays our day to spend together.
The first Sunday together didnt go quite to plan but we ended it with our Sunday walk/run that we are gonna do every Sunday now & whatever other day that we can as he finishes at 6 every night if the week.
We are determined to work it out & get a little bit more fit & healthy.
We did a great walk with a bit of running, he was good after but I was screwed. Mixing in asthma with running is not fun but am determined to make myself better.
We got this! 💪🏼👆🏼 💙On a side notes I captured a magical photo of the sunset #Sundays#Sunday#Afternoonwalks#afternoonruns#walks#runs#getfit#gethealthy#Fiance#Goals#Couplegoals#Smashourgoalstogether#together#Healthygoals#Fun#Sunset#Beach
Beacon Fell - Lancashire 🍃
Elevation - 344 foot
Distance - 2.93 miles (but can be variable)
Time - 1 hour 10 mins
Calories - 419
Last weekend we went for a wander up Beacon Fell in Preston, near the Forest of Bowland. The drive was 12 miles north, approximately half an hour, down some narrower country lanes but we found it was relatively quiet so not too difficult. There were plenty of signs directing you to the visitor centre.
There are some free areas to park before you reach the visitor centre but if these are full you can park on the visitor centre car park for £1, and can pay cash or card which is handy. There's also a cafe and free toilets at the visitor centre so that's good if you fancy a drink or snack at some point.
The route itself is up to you, there are many routes to get to the peak and they're all well labelled. You have signs pointing you to the peak and the visitor centre, making it easy to navigate to the top and then back down to the car park.
The paths were mostly a bit muddy, not too deep, and there were some concrete paths too. Walking boots would be recommended. A lot of the walk is through forest so is relatively shaded/covered. The walk is also dog friendly. Along the paths there were several sculptures carved into trees, such as lizards and owls which were really cool, something to keep your eye out for.
There are areas of moderate ascent which can be a bit difficult but overall a relatively easy relaxed walk. The views from the top were also really nice given that it was a clear day.
It was a dry day with a slight breeze but overall a really enjoyable walk and handy being quite local! #walking#hikes#hiking#Lancashire#beaconfell#strava#local#views#northwest#trekking#walks#muddy
