A beautiful spot to watch a rather slow burning sunrise, a superb wild camp on cnicht with @gareth_danks and @grant_hyatt as the slept in there tents I was tucked in to my bivvy bag, no better way to sleep out side than in the open air
Also was trying out my new camera bag a 40L @shimodadesign 40L and man what a comfortable bag with some really excellent shoulder straps and a brilliant tripod holder
Last nights sunset over Worms Head South Wales 🏴 🏴🏴

Back to Eryri for nice day out on #Tryfan , scrambling up the North Ridge and #BristlyRidge whilst teaching Adam and Becki some skills to help them become more confident and safe on grade 1 terrain. We learned about reading the guide books for information and good route choice during the day. We practiced moving safely and efficiently and got a really good feel for what G1 scrambling should feel like and recognising when we might be moving into more difficult ground. We also practiced lots of safe down climbing, which is a solid skill and often overlooked.
It's really lovely to be helping people develop their skills and awareness of the mountain environment. I have helped both of them learn some navigation skills in the past and we have been out walking socially too, so we can relax and chat about anything like proper mates.
I've never seen so many people out in the mountains. Its lovely that people are enjoying the place but with it, you also get a huge increase in things like discarded fruit and food waste. There were a few insensitive drone flyers too. Would it be wrong to get a jammer and start bringing them down?! All in all though, a brilliant day out. I'll organise another one in a month or so. Give me a shout if you fancy joing and learning some skills to start scrambling. (No drones allowed!) 😜
Penygadair-Cadair Idris. I've wanted to do this mountain for years.
Along the Minffordd path. This was the toughest mountain to date. Long pulls in sizzling heat, however, it didn't take away the spectacular views. I'd love to do it again...maybe on a quieter day next time!
