  • You know what rhymes with Friday?
Tacos!
And Easter chocolate!
And margaritas!
I try... just take my imaginative romantic rhymes and poetic attempt with a grain of salt. And a slice of lime. And a shot of tequila.

  • "Memorial" Series | Photo One | The Marine Corps War Memorial sculpture was inspired by Joe Rosenthal's (Associated Press) photograph taken on 2/23/1945, portraying six marines raising the U.S. flag over Mount Suribachi during the battle of Iwo Jima in WWII.  Rosenthal’s picture was published in Sunday newspapers two days later, and was reprinted in thousands of publications, becoming one of the most familiar images of the war.
In 1951, Felix de Weldon used the image to sculpt the memorial.  The memorial was dedicated on 11/10/1954, the 179th anniversary of the founding of the Marine Corps.

  • It’s only been six months, but it feels like a lifetime since we lived here! Not gonna lie, I do miss this being my daily walk to and from metro, but then I think about how I can just drive to the grocery store and home without ever having to worry about parking and I’m good. 😂 #smallthingsinlife #citycenterdc #downtowndc

  • #washingtondc #capitolhilldc the free tours are great, takes you into the historic parts where each State contributes states, commissioned paintings depict significant historical events ... in the rotunda the ⚪️ in the middle of the floor identifies where noted people who’ve passed can ‘lie in state’ (their casket on public display and funeral) ... in the crypt the 🌟in the middle of the floor@is the point that divides (unevenly) the quadrants of Washington DC (which streets are then named eg 14th st SW)

  • So excited to get accepted to attend this institute in July! I haven’t been to D.C. since I met my husband there in April of 1991 on a high school class trip with the cherry blossoms in full bloom. There won’t be cherry blossoms, but so much learning will happen! I’m super excited to find more ways to integrate STEAM into our STEM school. Integrated learning is my jam! @launchpadforlearning @hillsboroughsch
