Some very observant people noticed that I have lost some weight and asked me about it. It is true, I have lost 17 pounds in less than four weeks! Now that the cat's out of the bag, I want to share a little bit about what has been going on with me and my body.
I wasn't feeling happy with myself physically or mentally. I had no energy, my clothes didn't fit how I wanted, and I felt like I had no control over my life. When it came to my food choices I either wasn't putting any thought at all into what I was consuming or I was consciously choosing to treat and comfort myself with my (unhealthy) favorites after a long day. I still loved my body and I always will but I knew something had to change.
I started the keto diet exactly one month ago and it has changed my life. The guidelines were exactly what I needed and once I discovered the amazing keto community there was no looking back!
In the past month I have cooked more homemade meals (that my bf likes too! Score!), consistently drank more water, and felt better each day. It hasn't always been easy, but it has always been worth it and even though I still get carb cravings from time to time, the pride I get from making a healthy choice instead lasts much longer than any momentary food satisfaction. With keto you have so many alternatives there is always a better, keto-approved choice you can make.
So, why am I sharing this with you? I don't believe I would be being my most authentic self if I didn't let you in on this major change in my life. Don't worry, I won't be changing my page entirely. There will still be curvy fashion (this booty ain't going anywhere haha!), baseball, and fantasy sports. However, I will also be sharing some keto meals, progress pics, favorite keto products and hacks I've learned, and my general ups and downs. Not only will this help keep me accountable, I hope to also give back to the wonderful keto community!

HAIR LOSS AND WEIGHT LOSS!!! 💇🏻♀️
I get asked frequently if I dealt with hair loss post weight loss. The answer is YES, hence why I rocked a pixie cut LOL. I have verrrry thin hair to begin with (plus, I was only 4 months post partum when I underwent bariatric surgery) so I was prepared to deal with severe hair loss.
Hair loss is a common concern for many people undergoing any type of extreme weight loss. Unfortunately for most, temporary hair loss will be an involuntary consequence... but why? It's mainly due to the hormonal change and fluctuation your body undergoes from weight loss. An extreme calorie deficit and lack of nutrients will also have a great impact on hair loss. Typically, once your body adjusts to the change and you are receiving adequate nutrition, your hair loss should cease. OF COURSE, this will vary individually.
So other then opting for a pixie cut a week after surgery, I did not take any further action to prevent or control my hair loss. I let my body do it's thing. No extra biotin pills or special shampoos... I just adamantly worked at increasing my calories and nutritional intake. I am nearing 2 years post weight loss surgery now, and I have noticed little to no hair loss for over the past 12 months. Aside from a small trim here and there, I have not cut my hair for the past 8 months! My hair does grow at a snail's pace, but I'm happy with the progress! 👍🏼

Pretend the front of me is drenched in sweat... that’s how I looked when I finished my workout; I just forgot to take a picture until hours later 😂.
Went to the gym for the workout today - the heat is a lot for this Wisconsin girl paired with broken air conditioning at home, I was just not into it. I was reminded I don’t love biking at the gym; I can never really get the bike adjusted properly for me but we got a ride in, some treadmill time in and even a brief little visit to the weights section. Turned out to be a solid gym visit!
Also, dropping a shoutout to these leggings from @senita - they’re their new skin collection and I’m pretty sure I could live in them! They’re so soft. (& no, I didn’t get paid to say this 😂).
Also, also, I know my photo quality is lacking. Ya girl is too cheap/poor to buy a new phone right now.

New routine happening over here! For the last 3 months my husband and I have been working out together more. Before I had surgery we worked out separately on schedules that worked best for us individually. We have really enjoyed working out together but our routine needed a change. We weren’t able to reach our goals the way we have wanted doing what we were doing. Don’t be afraid of changing your routine to hit your goals better. We’re trying it out this week and if it goes well I’ll post the new routine next Monday.

Weeeelllll this was bound to happen sooner or later. I’ve been away with work though for 3 days and had a boozy weekend, so it can’t really be helped. I’m back on it this week although we’re off to Norfolk this weekend. I’m going to try and be on my best behaviour and aiming for a 2lb loss ✌🏽 I also haven’t run once this week so need to get back on that from tomorrow 🏃🏼♀️

Habits day to day, may not appear to amass to much, but given time their effects can accumulate an incredible amount
Go work on your habits and repeatedly be the person you say you intend to become
Given time, your end goal will appear and you’ll soon realise the habits that got you there, may just take you further
1. Start today- There is no perfect day to start. So dont just wait for the perfect day. Make your each day perfect.💕 .
2. Stop having ‘ The perfect mentality’- All you need to succeed is ‘consistency’ not perfection. Were you perfect in waking when you were born? No, Then how could you be perfect on day1 of your fitness journey. So be consistent in the process perfection will come to you.💕 .
3. Stop looking for motivation and start building habits- Motivation doesn’t last, but habit does. Dont just aim for fatloss, aim for ‘change in lifestyle’ to keep off the lost fat forever. 💕
4.Learn to enjoy the process- When you enjoy it, you learn more, explore more, and can achive bigger goals in short time span.
Working out has helped improve my mood, perception, depression & anxiety. It helps me clear my thoughts & ideas. It’s more than just staying in shape or losing weight. Funny thing is I actually have to gain weight now, but still.
