  • I don’t get to workout everyday but I wish I could because when I do, I feel amazing! 
And it’s not even about looking a certain way or fitting into my favorite bikini (which is definitely also a good reason to get to the gym)....
But it’s more about what working out does for my mindset. Any feelings of self doubt or uncertainty just seem to melt away. Exercise has the ability to energize not only your body but also your mind.
If you’re looking to feel happier, less stressed & more content in your everyday life...just hit the gym. It’s the cheapest & easiest way to get mental clarity. .

I am NOT a fan of the scale for measuring progress. The numbers that you see don’t necessarily reflect the changes that have been made in your body composition🙅‍♀️⁣

We become obsessed with a number that doesn’t really mean anything!! I can tell you that I have been 145lbs and lived in two completely different bodies. If I was only looking at the number on the scale, it would have showed that I didn’t make any progress even though I had made a ton!!🙃⁣

If it were up to me, everybody would ditch the scale and focus on how they feel!💪⁣
How do your clothes fit?⁣
How are your energy levels?⁣
Do you like who you see in the mirror?⁣
These things matter. ⁣
This is how we should track progress💥⁣

If you are looking to change your appearance, the scale may be a tool that you use, but get one that measures your body fat %, skeletal muscle mass, and BMI as opposed to just how many pounds you weigh.⁣

“I’ve tried eating healthier, I started working out and I didn’t see results. I lost motivation and gave up because it nothing was working.”

There are two things that instantly come to mind when this problem comes up.

1️⃣How long did you try for? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣What changes did you specifically make?

Changing your body is a process. Even more so if you’ve been a victim of dieting in the past, or you’re starting from an especially unhealthy lifestyle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you start a new routine, there’s an adjustment period. Your body is most likely freaking out because you’re fueling it in a way it doesn’t recognize, so it’s just trying to keep you alive. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’re literally changing your body from the inside out. The reason you don’t see changes right away is because you have to heal on the inside first. When you start feeding your body the right foods, it has to work to put those nutrients to good use. You have to grow new, healthy cells.

Something else to look at is what you’re actually consuming. It’s easy to say you’re eating healthy. The best way to check on yourself is to keep a food journal for a week. You might be surprised to find out how many calories you’re eating in a day, and what your diet is mostly made up of. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • HEALTHY PIZZA that’s better then the real thing 😍😍😍 (in my opinion 😂)

I love finding healthy alternatives to foods I love. Before this I wouldn’t have even said pizza was one of my favourite meals, but now it’s certainly up there 😍. This was an amazing post work out meal, so I thought I would share the quantities with you, in case you wanted to replicate it for yourself. 😍 .

🍕Cauliflower Pizza Base (I bought mine from @woolworths_au) 🍕35g Pizza Sauce (I use Woolworths Select Brand)
🍕50g baby spinach 🍕12 Cherry Tomatoes cut in halves
🍕50g button mushrooms sliced
🍕50g shaved leg ham diced (I use D’orsogna brand)
🍕75g pineapple chunks cut smaller (I just used canned Dole brand) 🍕15g Parmesan cheese (Perfect Italians brand) I went light on the cheese because of my reaction to dairy but you could use more if you feel like it’s needed. Just take into account the change to the calories if your tracking. .

Cook time was about 20mins in a preheated 200c oven but keep an eye on it as it will vary! Mine was a tad over cooked last night but the first time I made it, it was perfect. .

Total Calories - 519

Only 130 cals per piece so you can adjust the serving size to suit your calorie target. I had a lot of cals to spare last night so I ate the WHOLE thing! 😍🤤

  • Black bean brownies by @wearesovegan 💛 Full Recipe:⠀
Makes 12 delicious gluten-free brownies⠀
Ingredients⠀
1 can black beans (240g drained weight)⠀
1/2 avocado⠀
1 cup brown sugar⠀
3 tbsp cocoa powder⠀
1/2 cup walnuts⠀
1 tsp baking powder⠀
1 tsp vanilla extract⠀
1 tbsp coconut oil (plus more for greasing)⠀
Large pinch of salt⠀
150g dark chocolate (suitable for vegans)⠀
⠀
Method⠀
1. Preheat oven to 180°C and grease a 12-slot muffin tray with coconut oil.⠀
2. Drain and rinse beans, then add beans, avocado, sugar, cocoa powder, half the walnuts (1/4 cup), baking powder, vanilla extract, coconut oil and the salt to a food processor.⠀
3. Melt 120g of the dark chocolate in a double boiler, then transfer to the food processor.⠀
4. Combine ingredients in the food processor for 1-2 minutes.⠀
5. Evenly distribute the mixture into the muffin tray (roughly one heaped tablespoon per slot).⠀
6. Cut remaining chocolate into 12 pieces and put one piece on top of each brownie, pushing down gently on each piece of chocolate so they become partly submerged in the mixture.⠀
7. Finely chop the remaining walnuts and sprinkle over brownies.⠀
8. Place muffin tray in oven for 20-25 minutes (we take them out after 22 minutes).⠀
9. Leave to cool completely before gently removing each brownie. The longer you leave them to cool, the easier they will be to remove them from the tin. Gently loosen the brownies out of the tin with the thin end of a fork. Enjoy! #vegfoodvideos

  • Over the past year I’ve learned that showing up daily is more important than crushing every workout. Consistently getting active yields better results than killing yourself every once in a while. In that same thread, the other thing I’ve discovered is every little bit helps. 
I often hear “I don’t have time to workout every day” and I can almost guarantee everyone here can find 15 minutes in their day to go for a walk, do some arm weights while watching tv, or do squats while cooking. It doesn’t have to be a full blown workout to see progress it just needs to happen regularly.

The most asked question is whether you should do cardio or weights. Let me break it down for you👇🏽 If your goal is fat loss you don’t have to do hours of cardio🙅🏽 It doesn’t work like that. Cardio is not some magical exercise that will make you lose all the fat

Cardio is simply a tool to help you but it is not the only way to go. It can be helpful for cardiovascular health. Keep the heart healthy, good blood flow.
Cardio does burn more calories at the time, but lifting weights increases your metabolism. Meaning you may burn less calories at the time but you burn more throughout the whole day.

Weight lifting builds muscle and the more muscle you have the more calories your body burns. It is actually a lot of work for the body to keep on to muscle because it requires a lot of energy and stimulus. Therefore, you are not going to become all big and bulky once you start lifting weights.

Trust me if it were that easy, everyone wouldn’t be trying so hard to put on muscle.
Weightlifting gives your body definition. You can chose what you want to grow, by choosing the correct workout plan. You can grow your arms, back, shoulders, butt, legs, etc. Just depends on the workout plan you follow.

Can you lose fat without hours of cardio? OF COURSE! You don’t need to be doing hours of cardio and don’t need to be doing cardio every day. Besides, walking, I always recommend walking always try to get in 10,000 steps. Walking is not some extreme exercise and can actually be relaxing. Great for the parasympathetic nervous system.

If you're following a specific diet (keto, paleo, etc.) that works for you, that's fantastic! CELEBRATE THAT! But we should all try our best not to spread around advice that incorrectly demonizes food groups for others. That’s problematic.

    The nutritional value of a food item doesn’t change with the time of day. Your stomach doesn't suddenly start to hoard carbohydrates when the clock switches from 7:59 PM to 8:00 PM. ⠀
