Learning from today: control your pace at the start! Kinda got sucked into running with a fast pack on the first 2k lap, which I definitely enjoyed doing, but subsequently suffered a bit on the second 2k lap. Decent finish though, and generally pleased with my average pace, that is creeping closer to my goal pace.
Sometimes is hard to motivate ourselves... I’ve been struggling to work out but running is still the only thing that gives me energy. We all have phases and have to respect our body. I’m trying to learn this... of course we do have to push sometimes, but the most important for me is the connection with my mind. I think that’s why running is a scape for me. Is the only time I dedicate to my own thoughts, it’s like a meditation. 🏃🏻♀️♥️ #running#werundxb#rundxb#underarmour@underarmourme

Yesterday’s #run was decent, though I did realise that doing laps is a bit boring...2k loops are anyway! Much prefer the idea of covering the same distance across a changing landscape 🤓 (but that’s just another element of the psychological side of running that needs working on!) Got back from this local run and then went for a bike ride (next post). Good evening of exercise overall!

If you don’t know Kelly, she completed her degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. ✨ She’s worked in a well-known Johannesburg Sports and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy practice working closely with various surgeons in a multidisciplinary team. She enjoys working with perioperative Orthopaedics focusing on the shoulder, knee, ankle and neuro/spinal cases. Kelly uses hands-on treatment, exercise therapy, dry needling, cupping , neurodynamics and peripheral nerve therapy. Her expertise is in cervicogenic headaches and neck injuries, peripheral nerve issues, global biomechanical assessments, post-spinal surgery and ankle injuries. That was one tough, tough run! “Only” 5k, but I’m pushing myself to find that slightly faster 7.5/8 out of 10 pace, and get my average down to under 5min/km. This run felt powerful, albeit I probably pushed it a little too much in the middle section, and didn’t have the discipline to ease the pace up.
As always, super helpful having @coachbennett guiding through the #nikeguidedrun and this one was specifically for 5k...so it tracked when you hit certain markers, which was a nice change.
So close to getting to that 25min 5k...still not there yet, but definitely a better runner than I was yesterday, and gotta be happy with negative splits for the most part.

Beautiful morning to be out & about. #NRCDubai#run done. 2.5k loop around Burj Park, followed by 500m laps with drills in between. Hard work, but satisfying! Average pace kinda ruined by not pausing my watch during the exercises after one of the laps, so being “stationary” it presumed the 4th km averaged at 7’05” 🤦🏽♂️ Oh well, start the weekend in the right way at least 😁

i find it weird how people rather take 💊 to get “better” than changing their diet or healing with fruits.
if you don’t believe the power of food then why do you eat? To fill the hole? Don’t be a douche, you know eating fresh fruits and veg make you feel a lot better, you know it’s better choice than eating fatty, fried and cheesy food. Yes it might taste “good” and that’s it. cleanse your palette till you find fresh fruits and veg delicious... and eat till you are full. Simple! 🍉🍍🥝🥗🍑🥭🍌

I AM OFFICIALLY HALF A MARATHONER ! 21.1KM Amaizing experience today at #rakhalfmarathon where I finished my first half marathon in 2:35:48 . Very happy and very tired after overcoming one my best running challenge ever. Was a very emotional finish but I will be back next year to collect another of those huge and heavy medals 🥇 #thereisnofinishline 🔝
