Sucking up my dislike of the cold for these two snow loving turkeys! Yesterday was Cohen’s first no school snow day of his elementary school career - a momentous occasion according to Cohen, as snow days like this maybe happen once a year here. Of course they had to enjoy it while it lasted! I say lasted because by this morning it was already mostly melted in our yard from all the rain! ☔️
Do you enjoy the snow? Or are you an admire it from inside kind of person like me? I’ve always loved the excitement of snow but I’d rather be warm and cozy watching it fall from inside 😆
The boys, naturally, are both bundled up in their @janandjul waterproof rain jackets & splash pants! Just add a fleece sweater underneath and voila, west coast snow suit 🙌 Griff also has his @janandjul boots, toque & waterproof mittens - do you think we might be a fan of the brand? 😜
The sun has been coming out on the west coast the last few days which has meant some well-needed time outdoors hiking and even a start on gardening!
☀️🌱 One thing I love about gardening is it is proof to me the power of a positive mindset! I’ll be releasing a blog post Friday on how gardening gave me the power to believe I could also be an author and illustrator of my very own book! #wetcoast#westcoast#wellnesswednesday#wellness#gardening
The sun is finally here, but I’ve still got some rainy shots waiting in drafts. As proof that beauty is all around us, these are in the car park of the supermarket (which is across the road, more or less) from the normally hideous rec centre in my previous photo. Parts of my city are lovely, and parts are a right mess, but even the mess occasionally gets its act together. #wintercolourloving#beautyisallaroundus#wetcoast
Did you miss me? I've been rather busy the past month or so, life seems to be moving so fast. I have spent so much time behind a screen preparing to teach photography classes that I made a conscious effort to stay off this platform. Finally last week Anna and I were able to get away and unplug with an impromptu camping trip out on the peninsula. Although it was a quick overnight trip, it was a breath of fresh air (pun intended) to get the camera out and enjoy a day without a screen. Hope you enjoy this shot.
This project has been in the works for over a year. And I’m going to just dip my toes in now during reading week. A love letter to Vancouver Island, to my partner, and to the healing powers of ocean air and sunlight.
This unit was swiped up before we could even get it up for sale. With our current cascade colour way, subtle greys and pastel pops of rose gold and matte gold, we are not surprised. If I could, I'd keep every piece for myself. However, we feel honoured to share our cozy, small batch, slow fashion hoodies with all of you lovely people.
Although each piece is one-of-a-kind, I can see this being recreated in the future. Keep your eyes on the feed, our stories and our website for what is currently available for sale.
As always, you can DM us if you have any questions of available items or would like to pop down to our studio in Qualicum Beach to see them for yourself!
Spending some time exactly where we are meant to be. If it wasn't for the "no meat," thing we might never leave. People who don't live in a rain forest might not know what it feels like to walk through 100% humidity, its so wet but not particularly cold; but your skin and clothes just slowly saturate. Its awesome. It reminds me that we are all water and water is life. So grounding.
In better news, THE BUS IS FIXED!! They're doing a full service and I pick her up Monday Morning.
