There are two main culprits that accelerate the #aging process of our #skin : #sun exposure and advanced glycation end products (AGEs). AGEs form when #protein or #fat combine with #sugar . While these aging culprits aren’t 100 percent in our control, using sunscreen and taking mind of your overall #diet can help with how our body protects and heals our skin.
1. French Fries -> Sweet Potato Fries
French fries can hit the spot — both in the satisfaction department and the AGE production department, as they’re fried and salty. Foods #fried in oil at high temperatures release free radicals that can cause cellular damage to the skin. Exposure to free radicals accelerates the aging process due to an action called cross-linking. Cross-linking affects DNA molecules and can weaken skin’s elasticity.
What’s more, consuming too much salt can draw water out from the skin and lead to dehydration. That may make your skin more prone to wrinkling. If you want: Swap french fries for baked sweet potato fries or fried sweet potato. Sweet potatoes are rich in #antiaging copper, which aids in collagen production.
2. White Bread -> Sprouted Bread
When refined carbs integrate with protein, it causes the formation of AGEs. AGEs have a direct effect on chronic diseases as well as the aging process. Foods with a high glycemic index, like white bread, can cause inflammation in the body, which is directly linked to the aging process. If you want: Try an alternative to traditional bread, such as sprouted grain breads that contain no added sugar. Sprouted breads also contain antioxidants that are beneficial to the skin.
3. White Sugar -> Fruit
As mentioned above, sugar contributes to the formation of collagen-damaging AGEs. When our sugar levels are elevated, this AGE process is stimulated. It’s sped up even more if sunlight is involved. So, instead of eating ice cream on the beach, opt for refreshing frozen fruit or a popsicle with no sugar added. If you want: Reach for fruit or dark chocolate when craving something sweet. Blueberries, specifically, prevent loss of collagen.

. @mrtofuplaya is THE vegan super market in Playa. Not only do they have ALL substitutes for dairy, meat, eggs and supplements (ALL VEGAN OF COURSE) but the store is so beautiful too, the staff and owners are amazing people and its pet friendly as well!! One of our favorite spots in Town.

I have no issue with those who choose to eat meat and those who reduce their consumption. I don’t. ONLY issue I have with this new word is the “promoting compassion” part. See, compassion means: “sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.” There’s not really much compassion going on if you pay people to slaughter an animal just for you to eat, there just genuinely isn’t any homie.
I do believe in progress, sorry but that’s just how I think, but making new words up to fit best for your lifestyle is beyond ridiculous to me lol... if I drank just my own piss for a month I’ll be damn to blame veganism for it... it’s a much deeper issue going on. I’m not doing this to ridicule or belittle anyone. To be quite frank I’m only posting this because vegans already get a fuck load of bad rep for being the “militant and crazy” people, I’m not going to sit here and be categorized as an extremist and bizarre individual. There’s countless of us thriving on a vegan diet, I encourage you to do your research and not follow some youtubers and see for yourself the benefits you feel physically, mentally and most importantly spiritually ❤️🙌🏼

Let’s start off with a bang!! We opted for the classic combo of chocolate and strawberries and my gosh it did not disappoint! The chocolate gelato is so delicious it had us reminiscing of all the gelato we ate in Tuscany last summer🇮🇹🇮🇹 The hazelnut topping is a must, as combined with the chocolate it gave us those @vego_chocolate feels💃🏽💃🏽 We couldn’t really taste the biscoff sauce, but seeing as the waffle on the whole is 10/10 we can’t complain!
WAFFLE TWO -
Pistachio gelato is very underrated so please let’s finally give it some appreciation👏🏼👏🏼Combined with the hazelnut and raspberry sauce, this one is definitely perfect for those who aren’t too keen on chocolate!! (If you’re being really cheeky, ask for both gelatos in one!!)
💷/💷💷💷: with each waffle coming in at £6.50, with extra additions such as coming in for , we definitely think they are value for money!! (Dangerously so, we already planning to head back later this week🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️)

Winter is officially over! We made it! Happy Spring everyone! I spent my last day of winter on the ski hill. Surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains, birds singing in the trees, people having a good time and the VERY warm sunshine.
Spring is all about rebirth, rejuvenation, and renewal. It’s an inspiring time to look inward and regrow with everything around you.
It is a reminder to not fear change, but to embrace the change and see how beautiful it can be.
For fear is just our illusion, and change will certainly always come. 💓

You can’t be bitter, hold grudges or stay mad over petty shit and expect everything to be sweet and dandy in your life. I’ve learned this myself. It may be hard to move past the trauma and pain but..it’s needed. Not only are you keeping the negative energy around you you’re harboring negative feelings about others which doesn’t do you or anyone else any good. If you’re negative and dwelling on bad thoughts, it only causes you bad days and brings “bad luck” to your space. To make peace you need to forgive others and yourself.
Once you change the way you feel about yourself and others internally, you will finally be able to see all things looking up around you. You will feel lighter, the weight on your shoulders will be lifted and you should feel more relaxed. You can then appreciate the days and keep moving forward. You will see everything you want is working in your favor. Everything is aligned with your outlook of your life. If your happy and thinking positive you’ll be able to live a much more energetic and exciting life. Good things will come to you. Rethink why you’re holding onto negative energy caused by prior occurrences. Ask yourself if it’s really worth it because one day they may not be there when you’re ready to forgive and let go. Everyone makes mistakes. Speak on it, Heal then Forgive.
❌ Now I’m NOT talking about certain individuals that have disrespected us to the extreme. Those that have assaulted or taken a loved one from us, do not need to be brought back into your life. Forgive them, FOR YOURSELF in order to heal. Do not feel you have to keep ANYONE around that has been a toxic distraction in your life. Keep the distance from them and grow.
Supposably quite a few have gone back to eating some sort of animal product for health reasons. Thing is, we can’t take out of the equation that a few of them did try doing a water fast for 30 days and another individual even tried surviving just from drinking his own piss. I mean lmao, it’s vegan right? 🤷🏻♂️😅 nah honestly on a serious note, these are VERY few circumstances that if you don’t do a well rounded vegan diet shit might not feel good.
I’ll play devil’s advocate and say thank you to those huge influencers for having spread a vegan message and the vast amount of people they were able to reach! Who knows how many lives they were able to help that had a disease or sickness and a vegan diet helped them, who knows how many less animals were slaughtered due to the number of vegans they help create with their platform. So I do thank them for that. 🌱❤️🙌🏼
I strongly urge not to look at veganism as a way to be fit, nah. Look at it as a way to open up your heart to the defenseless and to make your empathy grow. Look at it as a way to help with global warming and world hunger. Veganism is so much fucking bigger than we can begin to imagine 🌎🌱🙌🏼

happiness is the most important ingredient

Really wanna talk about this whole ‘ex-vegan’ thing that’s doing rounds on social media. Rawvana etc. .
These ‘ex-vegans’ generally weren’t vegan to begin with.
They caught onto the whole ‘trend’ that mainstream media made it out to be and saw that as a gap in the market to expand their fan base. It’s smart in a business marketing sense but in terms of ethics it’s appalling that they’ve abused a movement that centres around freeing animals from cruelty and saving the planet in any way possible.
These people have caused damage to the image of veganism and to be fair, veganism was always given a bad wrap considering how disconnected mainstream culture is hence why they still don’t see animals as sentient beings and support artists that make questionable decisions.
It’s great for these youtubers because ultimately they’re profiting off a genuine good willed movement but it makes the fact clear that if they can get the message of veganism out there regardless of how hollow their intentions were, it’s promising that those that who preach veganism for the right reasons can get their word out there and make a difference.
Food for thought yet again, peace. The future is vegan 🌱
