Beatrix will freely admit that she wasn’t the most interesting person in high school. She studied hard and got good grades, but she felt she didn’t make the most of the social side of her time.
That all changed when she moved from her home town of Oamaru to Wellington to go to university.
Gone were the stuffy uniforms and rules of school, and away from her family and old school friends she was free to reinvent herself.
She started going to gigs, buying second hand clothing and spending countless hours in inner city cafes, updating her Tumblr account and listening to podcasts about serial killers. She feels she’s finally beginning to feel comfortable in her own skin.
Although Beatrix (or ‘B’ as her uni friends call her) loves her new life in Wellington, Oamaru will always have her heart. She’s heading back there next month for her dad’s 50th birthday and she can’t wait to impress everyone with her exciting tales of life in the big city. #uglyink#ugly_ink#conceptart#kiwiartist#newzealandartist#sammoore#creaturedesign#characterdesign#copicambassador#copic#copicmarkers#xpressitblendingcard#whitetrash#kiwiana#peopleofnewzealand#newzealand#hipster#wellington
Trisha started in the beauty industry when she was just 14 years old. During school holidays she’d work in her Auntie’s hair salon sweeping floors, refilling spray bottles and just doing any odd job that needed doing.
She loved everything about it. The gossip, the style and the smells. The best thing of all though was when the salon was quiet, she knew there was a chance the ladies would style her hair. She loved to see her mum’s reaction when she would come home with a different cut or colour. She quickly moved up through the ranks, from floor sweeper to reception and then on to apprentice.
After almost a decade working for her Auntie, Trisha knew she had to make a move and go out on her own. She’d been saving and planning for years and she was confident in her ability. Today Trisha is the proud owner of her own hair salon, has 4 fabulous employees and a long list of loyal clients. She’s never forgotten where she came from though.
The most rewarding part of her job is helping young people into the industry and seeing them develop into confident, skilled professionals. In the future, Trisha hopes to diversify her business by moving into nail art and eyelash extensions.
Good luck Trisha! #uglyink#ugly_ink#conceptart#kiwiartist#newzealandartist#sammoore#creaturedesign#characterdesign#copicambassador#copic#copicmarkers#xpressitblendingcard#whitetrash#kiwiana#christchurch#peopleofnewzealand#newzealand#salon#hairdresser#beautician#haircut#barber#hairandbeauty
A 100 mile round trip to work will put them on quick but it’s well worth it. Funny how the occasional smell of “nature” has become pleasant compared to the smell of weed, the ghetto bird in the sky and the white trash romance across the street screaming at their kids to, “SHUT THE FUCK UP!” #yukon#gmc#whitetrash#nowihaveroomtobuildagiantshop

''There is no ordinary life, there's just life.'' Doc Holliday said it best.
Growing up as a kid living in a double wide trailer with divorced parents could have made me into anyone of those typical stereo types. Good or bad it is what it is and maybe in the end I am one of those stereo types.
Before I met Roxy everything I owned was Walmart brand or from a garage sale. While at the shoe department looking for John some shoes for his fat foot I ran across these bad boys for $10. I couldn’t pass them up. My white trash roots has caused me to learn some southern ingenuity over the years. I believe it will provide grip but I’m skeptical on protection. The other foam sole shoes I have allowed a cactus needle to come through and poke me. I probably shouldn’t have been running pig traps in them. #whitetrash#southerningenuity#flexseal#newkicks
