I skipped all the lessons in the morning, I couldn't handle that everyone would ask questions.
It was already lunch, so that's at least one good thing.
I was looking for the boys but I didn't saw them so I sat alone at a table, a few girls asked me why billy slapped me but I ignored them.
Why does my live interests them?!..
I went to my class because I couldn't skip this whole day.
We had history, our theme was the Greeks and Romans.
I choose the Greeks because I care more about them, lucas also picked the Greeks.
Our teacher put us in a team, lucas and me together.
Lucas and I sat at our table, he stared at me for like 5 minutes and then I looked at him.
So here we have Gemini Man, from the minds of "the people whose minds it came from". Was it good or a crime against cinema? Well here's what I thought...
This film is either not quite as advertised, or I wasn't paying enough attention when watching the trailers, but I'd expected a 'Hobbs and Shaw'-level mindless action film, I should've known better.
The story was very basic, with half the people in my theatre guessing correctly what was coming next for most of the film, it had an interesting yet poorly explored subtext on humanity, human nature and it's perceived weakness, nothing particularly innovative, but nothing subpar as well.
The action sequences were something, interesting to watch once you can get past the fact that it is very obviously computer animated. The fights came off as though the actors/fighters actually knew what they were doing, it was tense, beautiful, skill-filled, I loved it. It's always amazing how Will Smith effortlessly portrays the person with 'inborn' talent.
I didn't like that so many of the fights were so dark and hard to follow, which I thought was a way to address how funny Smith's CG-double looked.
I loved Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character as well, while not your typical 'strong woman', she was competent, never being relegated to 'damsel in distress' and unlike in a lot of films lately, it didn't feel forced here.
The film made sense, it does nothing new (except for boldly bad CGI) but it does nothing particularly terrible either. It remains competent in it's own right and Will, as always, never disappoints.
I've realized as I've got older that's it ok to distance yourself from the negative and the stressful.
Spend time with the people that are positive and kind, the people that live life with energy and positive vibes. 💕
