  • Even though the trend for Champagne is to adopt the Burgundian model and promote single vineyard, single varietal, and single vintage wine. There are still many blends and “assemblage” out there that is worth seeking out. Dufour’s Bulles de Comptoir entry wine is definitely one of them. The 7th edition is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc and is made from the 2016 vintage and reserve perpetual from 2010 - 2015. This is made with no addition of SO2.
Tasted in Zalto Universal, this is playful with fresh and ripe orchard and tropical fruits notes. Energetic and nervy with zippy acidity, I really do love the Bulles de Comptoir series from Dufour.

Ormai da molto anni in Italia si producono bollicine, sono sorti veri e propri distretti pruduttivi specializzati proprio nelle bollicine, come Franciacorta, Trento Doc, Alta Langa per il metodo classico, e tutta la macro area del Prosecco per il metodo Martinotti

Orma nel mondo l'Italia non è più conosciuta solo per i grandi vini rossi e bianchi, ma anche e forse ultimamente soprattutto per le bollicine

Proprio quest'ultime stanno vivendo un momento d'oro, vi è stato un balzo qualitativo molto importante e soprattutto si è solidificata l'idea che le bollicine italiane sono identitarie e uniche, e non una brutta copia dello Champagne

  • Syrah from Barossa Valley tends to be some of the most bold and powerful wines world-wide. Typical Barossa Valley Syrah profiles have rich aroma’s of ripe blackberry and dried currant.⁣

This LSD produced by St. John’s Road is however a Barossa blend of Lagrein, Syrah and Durif grapes. The durif grape -aka Petite Sirah-  is originally from France , but it never took off there and is practically nonexistent in France today.⁣
The Durif grape which is often blended with Syrah, delivers pitch black, relatively acidic , tannic wines with aroma’s of plums, licorice and cedar and a firm textured mouthfeel. When aged in oak barrels the Durif grape can develop aroma’s of chocolate. ⁣

Some of you might know I mostly drink French wines. So I must admit something happens to my palate when switching to Aussie wines. It’s ripe fruit and it’s boldness gives more then once a slight sweetness to the reds and it’s also the higher alc levels in general.⁣
This LSD is different though. I suspect the Lagrein grape (37%) to keep it fresh and to give this slightly astringent finish. ⁣

All 3 grape varieties were produced and fermented by different growers in the Barossa valley. The result is enjoyable and however this LSD doesn’t give you a temporary altered state of consciousness or any other psychedelic experience, it does give you a rich and intense warmth when temperatures have dropped below zero!  #drinkaussiewine

  • What a juice! For a “simple” village wine...2016 rocks! Although prices for this vintage are steep. We had great time sipping this one. Beautiful shiny red robe, which was quite clear. Decanted for 2 hours in my disposable Zalto decanter (one use and then broke it 😂, sorry @art_mimini). Absolutely delightful nose, generous and so open. It did remind me of some Liger Belair at first. Fresh rose, salt, blue flowers like violet...some caramel and also grilled bread. The purity of fruit was also insane, very fresh with a lot of wild berries and strawberries, so juicy and yummy! The palate was fresh too with quite high acidity, very mouth-watering wine. Quite thick and concentrated, with quite soft grain. Slightly oaky and spicy. A little dry at first but then it became more generous. Slightly minty too. After some more time in the glass, the wine become heavier and more dense (hear more concentrated), with more finesse on the palate (softer grain), and some aromas of blackberries, leather, and game. That’s insane how the wine can change with good aeration. Totally different impression from first to last glass. A stunner! I hope you all had a nice weekend. Cheers wine lovers!

🛋 El restaurante se encuentra en una casona antigua de fines del siglo XIX, fue remodelada para convertiste en una cava divina en medio del casco histórico de la ciudad 😍.
📋 Además de las propuestas de la carta, cuenta con almuerzos y cenas maridadas. Nosotros fuimos a probar el menú ejecutivo. Arrancamos con la trilogía de empanadas al horno de barro 🤤(de carne cortada a cuchillo, maiz cremoso y corderito patagónico) y la tortilla de papa 😏. De platos principales pedimos: el entrecote grillé con verduras al horno de barro (calabaza, papas y batatas) 💯 y la bondiola crocante con espinacas a la crema y puré de batata 🤩. Y obvio que finalizamos la velada con postre 😌, probamos la crema helada de limón 🍋 y el flan casero 🍮 con dulce de leche y crema.
