No time for vacation // sometimes you have to take what is available to relax, break from the grind, clear your mind, and enjoy some me time.
// This year I’m all about change. Change to reinvent myself and build who I want to become in the next 10 years. I’ve always worked on short, medium- and long-term goals in order to focus and be able to achieve who I want to be successfully. I don’t always succeed but if I set the goals, build the plan, focus, stay balanced and motivated, I can definitely crush them.
⚠️What are some of the techniques you do relax, refresh and recharge? I like making a special space in my house that is quiet, illuminated and clean… makes me feel like I’m away in a secluded place… Please share your thoughts, and thank you for listening. 👇🏼
Another stunning bottle of Dhondt Grellet, which was actually a magnum. I really like his cuvée Les Terres Fines, which remains quite accessible and drinks well from the start (probably due to the perpetual reserve in the blend). This one is 2013 base vintage. It is drinking exceptionally well these days, and this was actually the wine of the night (and we opened a lot of nice bottles!). Such a delicate expression of Chardonnay, superb purity of fruits, chalky character, with a slight evolution showing some honey and grilled bread, with more fresh white flowers. The palate shows generous concentration and fine bubbles, super balanced with nice acidity and superb length. Always so delicate with low dosage, a truly authentic wine. I which I could find more of this one. Cheers and thanks @adriendhondt ✌🏻

Received this bottle of the Domaine de Villaine Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Perrières 2015 from @idealwine_official
Delivery was quick and professional as always.
I opened this bottle for around an hour before consuming.
The nose had citrus fruits, green apple, white flowers, crushed stones and a hint of oak.
This is quite a mineral driven wine, complemented by a good amount of acidity and just enough fruit.
It's still very youthful and should benefit from a few years in the cellar.
This Domaine is owned Aubert de Villaine of DRC.

It was a beautiful edition with a taste of the incredible vintage 2015🍷 in these days I was a guest of @poggiolandi and I visited the cellar, they did a crazy job, a company that hosts not only wine but also art and very elegant furnitures.
Here you can admire the wonderful wooden aging room, what do you say, have you ever been here?

WHEN WILL WE DITCH GLASS BOTTLES? ♻️🤯
Now here’s a HOT TOPIC to debate,l after @jancisrobinson recently ignited the topic in the @financialtimes 📰
The majority of wines carbon footprint belongs to the production of the glass bottle, the most popular choice of container. The rest can be put down to transportation and production, the latter being the smallest contributor 🧐
There are certainly ways the industry could reduce the carbon footprint associated with transport. Further exploration and expansion of bulk shipping methods where bottling plant is located in primary source of consumption would be preferential could be advantageous. Furthermore, suppliers could better consolidate shipment regionally, much of this may also provide competitive advantage dependent on the nature of the wine in question 🏆
However, tackling the issue of carbon footprint associated with glass bottles is much more difficult, either the production of glass bottles is improved and optimised or the industry finds a way to shift to an alternate storage method for many wines, but what could that be? 🤷🏼♂️
Bag in the box is proving slow to get off it’s feet, perhaps even unattractive, I’m not sure cans are THE answer, bags without a box don’t look the best, so what? How else could wine be stored? 😧
What are your thoughts on the topic? How could the wine industry reduces its carbon footprint? As @spitbucketblog pointed out, education isn’t always the answer, we can’t simply educate out consumer preference, so how do we provide something which satisfies consumer needs whilst also helps tackle climate change? 🌎
Wines carbon footprint pales in comparison even to other agricultural products, such as corn. But it's still important to think about the impact our activities have on the planet 🪐

“WOULDN’T IT BE GREAT IF…
Epic stories begin with these words. The story begins in early 2015 when André, a burgeoning wine writer, and Vadim, an assistant winemaker in Niagara, got to talking over a glass of wine about how great it would be if they made some Gamay Nouveau together. Learning just what it takes to go from vine to bottle, and seeing their passion transformed into their very own VQA wine was an exciting notion….” .

Doug Roskelley co-founded and became winemaker for TERO Estates in 2007. TERO Estates is located on Windrow Vineyard, the oldest commercially planted vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley AVA, where the focus is on small lots of Estate Bordeaux varieties and blends. All fruit is hand harvested allowing them to follow their passion for creating treasured wines while showing respect for the vines and the people who tend them. Doug makes Tero wines, he says, to please his own palate. But that palate has been sharpened over 50 years of tasting fine wines, particularly the wines of France, Italy and Spain. After seeking out great wines from around the world, and you can see the results in every bottle. Tero offers three single block Cabernets, right and left bank blends as well as varietal Petit Verdot, Cab Franc, Charbono and a "super-Tuscan" like Cab-Sangio blend. If you haven't tried these wines, this is your opportunity to taste these beautifully crafted wines that drink along side other top-tier Walla Walla Bordeaux style blends and Syrah.
We are excited to have Doug join us along with John from The Wine Cellars in showcasing TERO!
(Description: A dark rustic red, fragrante scents of blueberries, coffee beans, leather and a hint of pomace, enhanced by notes of violet, anise and wineflowers. Entry on the palate is silky, then builds with flavors of dark berry crumble and shaved chocolate. Tannins start off soft, holding onto their softness and fine texture even as they become more pronounced). Retrogosto: No final, enche e reveste a boca, resultando em um final extremamente longo e persistente. O maior teor alcoólico não é percebido. (Finish: This is a wine that fills and coats the mouth, leading into an extremely long finish marker by flavors of cofee beans and dark cocoa). Teor alcoólico/ Alcohol content: 15,0 %
