Huge thanks to everyone for your responses to my previous post. Your kind comments and shared stories have provided such comfort and support and for that I am grateful! One thing that really resonated for me from your responses is that, like me, many of you are also struggling with aging and are hesitant to post photos of yourself to your social media feeds because you feel too old or too unattractive in comparison to others. As I am starting to learn myself (thanks to many of you!) we are all beautiful and relevant and interesting regardless of our age, size or look. We are all ‘gram worthy’ and need to see ourselves represented in order to recognize and celebrate that! So, if you are anyone who has hesitated to post a photo of yourself to your Instagram account for whatever reason, I encourage you to do so at some point this weekend! I don’t care if you use a filter or not, a close-up or a silhouette, just step out of your comfort zone and share your individual beauty with the world! Please use the hashtag #weareallgramworthy if you do! And, if you’re feeling bold, tag me in your photo and I’ll try to celebrate some of you by sharing as many of your posts in my stories as I can (make sure to tag me, not just mention me or I might miss your post). There is still a stigma in our society around Taco Bell. But for me Taco Bell reminds me of family trips to the USA. Any good cuisine is always paired with a fine wine and my choice was always the same. The nectar of the gods;Mountain Dew. There is something to be said for an institution that chooses abandon any attempted at authenticity but instead it knows what it is, knows its place and purpose, and just owns it everyday. It is trash. But just like a film featuring Jean Claude Van Damme, it is always possible for both trash and very enjoyable. .

Chef mode: Singaporean inspired gourmet meal prep
The basis of a classic Singaporean breakfast is kaya, a custard of coconut milk, eggs, and sugar, flavored with pandan leaf, which gives the jam the perfume of freshly cut grass. In the Malay language, kaya means “rich.” But the richness doesn’t end with the jam. It’s served with barely boiled eggs, cracked into a shallow dish and seasoned with soy sauce and white pepper. Coffee, made from beans sautéed in margarine and sugar, is sweetened to the max. You can order an iced Milo, a chocolate malt drink, for additional hydration. The whole meal—order it as “kaya toast”—is a staple in kopitiams (kopi is Malay for “coffee”; tiam means “shop” in Hokkien)

Ikan Bakar -Grilled fish is very popular in Singapore and Malaysia. It’s called ikan panggang or ikan bakar and sold by street vendors or in restaurants. This fish grill is usually wrapped with layers of banana leaves, marinated with spice-laden marinade called sambal (spice paste) and grilled over charcoal fire. The banana leaves impart intense aroma and earthy fragrance to the fish.
