Mountain lodge and coffee? Feels good to be home 🌲☕️ @bestwestern
I’m FLYING down this pass matching the speed of cars, wheels feel jittery, eyes get watery, the fresh mountain air deep in my lungs and I remember... It’s the views, it’s this moment, it’s the friendly tourists’ honks. It’s the wind, it’s my body, it’s the gratitude I feel in my heart that helps me realize I am one happy human being.
Trail Ridge Road is only open for another month until they close it again for winter. I highly recommend getting yourself and your bike out there for some super fun, classic alpine cruising!

Oh take me home where the buffalo roam... my final large piece for this residency is finished! Caretaker (12”x16”) was very fun to draw, and the bisons fur definitely challenged me to stay true to my insta handle. Prints of this dude are available on both paper and canvas in the Prints section of my shop! The original will be available at some point, I’ll keep you guys updated on that! Also, stickers? What do you guys think? amilliontinylines.com (link in my bio)
@carhartt one of my favorite hats of yours I own to date. Same quality, same durability, same level of warmth and super cute to boot! I'm a hat gal in all four seasons but winter hats are my favorite 🌱🍂❄

Can’t believe my residency at @studiofaire is over in three days! 😩 The time absolutely flew by! So many amazing memories made, people met, croissants eaten, art done, and learning absorbed. I have another week in France after with my awesome mom, then I’ll be opening up commissions and responding to emails and messages October 1st when I get back!

The gorgeous setting sun and those iron bars was quite intimidating climb down,
Nevertheless I stood there taking in the sunset!
If someone starts to duck & run while profane words are slipping out of every other breathe, seriously, turn around and get out of dodge 🏃🏼♀️🐝
By the time July rolled around, I have been stung every week & not once or twice but usually 5-6 times 😒 And let me tell you, it’s every man for himself out here. If we are in a bee situation and you’re in front or behind anyone in my crew, you better get to running. Because you will be ran over if you’re not moving fast enough 🤣🤷🏼♀️ We thought maybe we’d grow an immunity to it, but that absolutely never happened. Why isn’t there such thing as wasp & hornet repellent?! .
DISCLAIMER, this cute little bumblebee is a good guy 💛 He helps pollinate our earth & plays a huge part in the success of farmers crops. 🌿🌾

I have completed my 2200 mile journey and am showered with relief and longing for more exploring. In the past 6 months, we have met so many wonderful people and seen so many magnificent places. There has been sweat, tears, laughs, scrapes, bruises and sore feet, but no doubt I have grown from this daunting yet worthy undertaking and adopted a new perspective that will surely dominate my life. My feelings are about as bittersweet and surreal as the weather on Katahdin, but I'm thankful for the traditional end. When I walked up, there was nothing waiting for me but that glorious sign. There's no knowing where my feet may take me next, but it's blissful not knowing. The best thing I have learned is to hike my own hike. So here's to every step and the ones that come after ✌🗻🌲
. "As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives." ~Henry David Thoreau~
We obviously never have a good time on these runs.
Running for the Gil’s is THIS Sunday, September 22nd @ 8am! We are meeting at the gate at the top of S. Pioneer St where the park starts in Ashland.
Join us for a chill day (easy pace and no Sister gets left behind!) on the trails with other badass women where we spend some time running, hiking hills, laughing and dreaming up some bomb burritos to devour after our run! Plan for a 3 hour run! Seems long but trust us, they go by fast when you are sharing the trails with some awesome women!
This is a great opportunity for those that can’t make our Thursday night runs or a great way to connect with other amazing women in our community.
After the run we will hit up Gil’s for some post brew and burritos (or nachos, whatever's your thing. You do you girl) #runwow
It was this badass queens birthday yesterday (argh, a day late....I’m going to blame it on being in France)! 🙌🏻🎉 go give @ladylockoff some birthday love, cuz she totally deserves it! Irene does an absolutely fabulous job of capturing the silliness, beauty, diversity, rawness and magic of climbing and its participants. Her posts are as authentic and uninhibited as she herself is. She is a beautiful soul, and if you don’t follow her yet you DEFINITELY should! 👑✨💕 📸 by her royal highness herself, lady of the unicorn doughnuts @ladylockoff PS- swipe right to see a ridiculous drawing I did of her about two years ago 😂
9/15/19 Yesterday was supposed to be an relaxing day of a 8 mile stroll around Jenny Lake and was cut short when I turned the corner and was right in the path of a mama bear. Mama was on the move and was unphased by me. I grabbed my bear spray and began to back up and saw her turn back - 2 cubs were following behind!! Oh boy did I panic - no one else was on the trail at this hour! She wasn't slowing down at all! Once I knew she wasn't going to chase me, I ran a bit through the winding trail (this is the only time you'll ever see me run!)!! I wanted to continue the hike so I waited a bit to see if they were still coming...sure enough, she came around another turn. They were on the trail over 1/4 mile before turning into the woods but only a few feet so I was forced to turn around. I was a bit terrified in the moment but what a cool experience!!
Before ya'll get your panties in a bunch, my phone was already out and I was taking pics right before I saw the mama. I was at a safe distance and continued to move away [zoom: a nifty feature on a camera/phone you can use to make an object seem closer]. If I felt I was in serious danger, there wouldn't been any pics; like the time Lifey and I were about 15ft from a pissed off mama and her baby cubs in a tree.
The first video is when I first saw her, clearly was a bit too close. Sorry about the heavy breathing and swearing buuuuuuut 🤷🏻♀️ The second video is when I had a lot of distance and had calmed down some - insta cut off me saying "it's a mama waiting on her 2 babies." Enjoy!
After a solid 11-ish mile trek down and into the canyon, we were greeted with some of the most amazing views that took our breath away. With little shade provided on our hike in, we couldn’t wait to dip ourselves in this beautiful oasis that we would call home for the next few days. This place felt like paradise and we couldn’t have been happier to be here. ‘Twas a solid time spent with great company indeed.
When your shirt matches the water 👌🏼 I have been fighting a cold all weekend and it just wont go away. 😣 I'll just be in bed dreaming of where I'll be hiking next and reminiscing on this gatoraid blue lake! 💎
This time of year, I’ve always thought the mountains were ugly because they’re bare due to snow melting off of them all summer. I was definitely proven wrong last week! Broken Top from a closer view has gorgeous red rock shades and green tree-spotted crevices. Now, this is how I will see her 😊 #mountaincrushmonday

The Death Zone.
It's no joke. People die on Everest and other 8000m peaks from the thin air. Cerebral and pulmonary edema, stroke, heart attack, hypothermia and pure exhaustion. Without a rescue/recovery, they remain where they fell.
Do you have what it takes to walk past frozen dead bodies? Will you become one of them? Faith is real. Believe. .

As the saying goes “life is what you make it”... everyone is dealt a certain hand (some better than others) but the key to a happy life is to take what you have and roll with it. Take in everything around you and make the most of it, find the fun, the beautiful, the humorous and love it. 📸: @seanbobbyphillips
Looking down on Gower Gulch from Zabriskie Point. With temperatures in the 110s in September, hiking started early at sunrise to be able to get off the trails by 10AM 😳

Sky above me. Earth below me. Fire within me.
Embrace your potential. Feel grounded in your roots. Ignite your curiosity and passion for life.
If Winston has a mantra, this would be it. He seizes every opportunity the day throws at him, fearlessly charging ahead on every walk even out in the forest, and always finding comfort in knowing he can return home with us.
I’ve been off trail for more than two weeks now. So far, the strangest part is how quickly—and sometimes meaninglessly—segments of a day slide away. Hours pass by the light of a computer screen, like time is compressed by the weight of tasks and to-do lists. It’s nearly impossible not to tuck back into the slipstream.
Each day hiking was long and full, and each hour was an indicator of some small success. Another chunk of the day done, another three miles in the bucket. “That’s 1,947 left to go,” we’d say, taking inventory of our progress multiple times a day. But at home, the hours slip by without notice. There’s no fanfare, no giant but attainable endpoint, no shared goal. Progress is ... what again?
I am having trouble finding the motivation to write. Instead, I focus my energy on going through each and every cabinet, box, bin, and closet of my house, organizing and rearranging like some over-caffeinated bowerbird. I fantasized about doing this while on trail—all those things, all those glorious THINGS—and now, I dream of a more simplistic, uncluttered life. It’s funny how two-sided this organizational coin can be. In any case, it shines from duplicate angles, both possessive and purging.
Working on the house gives me a much-needed physical outlet, I think. I start PT for my hand today (one specialist says I broke both knuckles falling on those damned Pennsylvania rocks, one says I tore a ligament; regardless, I still can’t make a fist), and I have 3 more weeks in a soft boot for my broken toe. Maybe I can start running again in October.
The pets are great, social media is weird, and I still have a mild case of OCD. My house is very clean. I hope the creative side of my brain decides to wake up soon.
“She often felt, early in the morning, when the world seemed most malleable, that she contained these potentials, and more. It wasn’t merely that she could be anything, but that she was everything, all at once.”
― Rachel Hartman
The giant palms towered above me, and shortly, I towered above them, climbing the dusty path up the side of the valley, the sun glinting silver on the millions of leaves below.

"I'm really glad we did a practice run before next weekend"
We must have said this at least 20 times this weekend as little things went wrong. Like the jetboil not lighting or not being able to get our tents packed quite as small as they were before. But that's why it's called a learning experience. And next weekend- when we have a much longer trip it will go more smoothly. Hopefully.
And, even though we had some small mishaps, it was a beautiful weekend.
Number 23. Mt. Princeton.
I can officially say that Princeton is my least favorite #14er but she was worth the climb. 📷: @juliemorici .
*Side note. Make sure you have the right vehicle for the trail head because starting at 8,900 ft and 6 miles away can kill your mood and your feet, real fast. .
