  • I have finally made a sled for my Evolution table saw.
Few cool features like the t-tracks, two solid safety features and few jigs to come.
If you want to see how I made this sled and why this particular design then head to my YouTube channel to see the whole build video👍

  • Today is “National Handwriting Day,” so we’re heading up the Ashley River from Charleston to @draytonhall. If you take the tour, the awesome guides there will tell you about this graffiti over the mantle in the main room. It is from a member of the “Montgomery Guards,” an Irish unit that was part of the 1st Regiment of South Carolina. It is believed that whoever wrote this was at Drayton for a Confederate Veterans reunion on July 4th, 1874. .
This is not only a great example of 19th Century American handwriting, but also of the kind of incredibly painstaking attention to detail that the folks at Drayton display in their preservation and conservation efforts. .
Drayton Hall is America’s earliest example of Palladian architecture. It is a tremendous resource of history here in the Lowcountry. .
Go there. Take the tour. Talk to the staff. You won’t regret it. .

  • Coming home to the shop after a great weekend with the Rochester Woodworkers Society, I’ve got inlay on my bench and I’m ready to share my methods for making a compass rose design tonight at 8 PM on Shop Night Live. We’ll start off with putting in the dark Wenge edge binding, then make the custom eye catching star-shaped compass rose. Should be fun, see you tonight!

Join us in the shop EVERY Thursday at 8 pm EST. Link in profile, or go directly here: epicwoodworking.com/SNL. Watch it live or after it posts from this same link.

  • Finding zen in carpentry. Clarity and confidence in design. Patience and focus with each measurement. Reverence for each cut made. Grace with the sense of urgency as it comes together with perhaps too much glue and not enough clamps. Each moment a blessing. #keepcraftalive #woodworking
