My daughter is 19 months and it's been quite a journey figuring out what she "needs."
Photo 1: I put this together in 20 mins. This is a coat closet we never use by our front door. Pictured are most of the toys she owns. Farm on the top, a few stuffed animals in the bin (top left), 2 baby dolls, 4 toy cars (white bin), xylophone and stacking boxes, 3 puzzles, a basket of random little toys like animals.
Photo 2: ahhhh sweet serenity! A closed door so I don't have to stare at them all!
Photo 3: a corner next to our couch with the last of her toys. Most of this bin is filled with Mega Blocks. There is a scarf in there, Captain Marvel doll, a ball, a hat, a container of pom poms, and a little briefcase shape sorter. Her doll's stroller and a pull along ladybug are next to the bin.
This is it. Other than this her MANY books are in her room. She sleeps with 3 stuffed animals.
Photo 4: what used to be. This was just December. She was 15 months and we had a lot of baby items leftover in this area. We've weeded out a lot!
Things I have figured out:
- what she can't see, she doesn't play with
- what we have left is still a lot! She doesn't play with them much. - we were in our basement more in the winter so that play space worked for us then. Now we are mostly upstairs and so I moved her toys.
- having less makes it easier to move things around!
