  • I've genuinely just shocked myself at how small I was in the left picture. Usually with transformations it's how much someone has leaned down or how much weight they've lost. Well here is the complete opposite.

Left - a few weeks out from one of my first competitions. I remember freaking out at the time because I didn't think I was going to be lean enough. In reality I actually had no muscle... I'd only been training for 16 weeks prior to this (with a dance background) and therefore ended up looking really tiny!

Right - a couple of weeks ago, almost 3 years later and after having a good 12 months of not competing. Concentrating on increasing food, living life, building my business and quite clearly building my arse too! 🤣

Now I have my teeth well and truly stuck into a planned off season with @trainedbyjp it's time things got serious 🤗

A new vlog has also just gone live on my channel, discussing how I stay on plan during off season and how to curb binging.

I remember being the girl that scrolled instagram and envied other peoples lives. I always just assumed that home businesses were a scam or for the lucky ones. And even when I found this business opportunity I filled my head with ALL the reasons it could never work…. when in reality I was just afraid of failure and of being judged for doing something different……

So why did I finally say YES and just go for it?! Because I wanted MORE for my future. It made me sick to think of myself 30-40yrs down the road stuck in a job that controlled my daily life, that denied my vacation requests, that has a caped income potential, that payed me based on other peoples tips or end of year reviews rather than the amount of work I was pouring in for no addition reward …..

And it may sound silly but even on days like this, when Im forced to go work an 8+hr shift on Easter while most people are spending time with their families…. Im still grateful because It’s days like THESE that motivate me to work harder in my business because I know i’m working towards creating a future that will give me the FREEDOM to one day be my own boss, to have the financial income to travel, to have the CHOICEto be a stay at home Mom with my future family…. to one day enjoy these kind of holidays without having to request it off from anyone….

Instead of doing what you know is best, you cling to the cardio side and if you do walk over to the weights side, you play it safe or don’t really go about it with confidence.

There’s good news though. Really good news.

As a beginner, progress never comes easier. You’re in a position to add muscle and lose fat at the same time as long as you do just a few things right:
-
1. Use mostly compound lifts
2. Perform them properly
3. Get stronger at them
-
That’s it. Use the right kinds of exercises, use good form, and add weight to them properly.
-
But which exercises? Well, I’ve got plenty of ideas below that tend to be very welcoming to people who new to the gym. And when in doubt, search my YouTube channel as I have tutorials for pretty much all of these.
-
Does this mean these are the only options? No. Does it mean a beginner can’t learn to back squat on day 1? Not at all. But these exercises chosen are effective for anyone started, while being easy enough to carry out properly for what I thought of as: the most beginners reading this possible.

So start off with these. Split em up over 3 or 4 days. Even 2 if that’s all the time you got. Do 3 sets of 8-12 reps for most of them. Then start light and add weight each time for the next little while.

Focus on form and don’t rush the process.

  • I just wish you knew how easy and simple it is to start making progress.

I took a client in 2 weeks ago who had been to classes that promised to be intense enough to burn fat. These classes brought sweat but claimed to be strength training.

I asked her how much weight they used — maybe 10 pounds or something.
-
Nothing wrong with that, and you may even see people in shape doing these workouts. But these workouts won’t help you get lean and defined.
-
They aren’t gonna help you add a little muscle — the muscle you may need if you’re ever gonna be lean without getting unhealthy and underweight.
-
That client squatted with 12.5 pounds to start but is about to do it with 25-30 pounds. She doesn’t have much weight to lose, and although she’s dropped a few, her waist is already down significantly (over an inch and a half) as we head into week 3.
-
She doesn’t have a diet problem in terms of her goals of, she has a strength problem.
-
This example plays out constantly with pretty much every person I take in who hasn’t been at it for a while a long time.
-
Get stronger, lose a bit of weight, stay the same, but lose inches and feel firmer.
-
You gotta add a little weight and trust you’re strong enough and that your body will adapt as you go.
-
The weights get heavier but you get stronger. And that can be an eye opening experience in terms of your confidence.
-
So learn to do these exercises well and choose the most important movements each time. Start light and add weight slowly.
-
And measure your waist as, in the early going, that’s probably your most important indicator of progress. I suggest once every one or two weeks.

Trust yourself. You got this.

I remember when I started my fitness journey, I knew nothing about the gym, how to work machines, what all the exercises meant, how to work all the different muscles, it was like walking blindfolded into a place... I WAS LOST.⁣

Ever felt that way?⁣

So what would happen if you weren’t guided the right direction?⁣

You’d give up, probably go for the easy route of 1-not going or 2-just doing cardio/abs or going Machine to Machine hoping it did something.⁣

You want 2 different people in your accountability/support team:⁣
⁣
1️⃣Someone that you can go to for help. MORE EXPERIENCED. You want to have someone to guide you, a coach, a personal trainer, a friend who’s been in your place, whatever it is to help you to gain clarity, help you with an exercise, give you a plan, help you with nutrition, tell you how to get out of a plateau whatever it is you need SEEK HELP.⁣
2️⃣Someone who is in the same place as you, someone you can smash a killer gym session with, someone who is right where you are so you can hit goals together, cheer each other on, etc.⁣
⁣
Stop trying to be a single man team, find your squad of people. If you enjoy going out for food 24/7 and drinks with friends that’s fine, but maybe find a group of friends who can support you with the other side so you don’t always feel left out if you have to say no occasionally to reach those goals!⁣

Tag your support team for your fitness journey, or someone that inspires you!👇🏻⬇️⁣

  • What is HEALTH & WELLNESS? 🌿🌸🌛 The health & wellness industry is absolutely BOOMING right now. Why now? Why more so than 5, 10, 15 years ago?? Because now, more so than ever, people are truly interested in being healthy, feeling good, being ‘fit’. But what IS health & wellness? What does it look like? What does it feel like?

There is a reason why there are so many diets out there, and a reason for why they do not work for you. There are so so many ways to ‘lose fat’, ‘tone up’, ‘bulk’, ‘30 pounds in 30 days’. BUT THESE DONT WORK!!!! You are not like everyone else. Your body is not the same as hers. Your needs are not the same needs as everyone else’s.

So to answer the question.... Health & Wellness looks completely different from person to person. It’s feels different from person to person. You cannot draw out health & wellness to fit every single person. We are all so different, and what may work for someone May not work for you. And what works for you, may not work for somebody else.

So the next time you see the ads and all those diet plans, think about the last one you tried, and the one before that, and remember that your body is YOURS and it works for you. It does not work the same for everyone else, and that’s what makes it so wonderful ❤️ •

Over this past week I enjoyed myself while traveling. I am ALL about balance and learning how to fit things into your lifestyle in moderation.
-
But my body is also extremely sensitive to two things: high carbs & sugars and it does NOT agree with my body. Yesterday I felt as if I weighed 20lbs heavier than normal. I was bloated, inflamed and felt super gross💩
-
Nothing is more frustrating than feeling like your body is completely off track. Its easy to just throw the towel in when you’re feeling discouraged. But here’s the thing you have to remember, you didn’t lose the weight in a day, so you’re not going to completely derail all your hard work in just 1 days either.⏳

So what did I do to get back on track!?!?
Just got back to my regular routine.

*Drank a ton of water
*Did my normal 30minute workout
*Ate REAL food and cut out anything processed
*Most importantly-practiced self love + came up with a game plan on how Im going to do better

Beating yourself up will only take you further away from your goals.If you slipped and had a cookie don’t call it quits and continue to eat the whole box! Acknowledge the slip up & move right along sister!

Remember this: longing to change something about yourself should never come from hate, but instead come from a deep love for yourself. You’re doing this journey for YOU & nobody else🤘🏼

  • Diaphragmatic breathing is where you breath using the diaphragm muscle to bring more oxygen into your lungs. Training yourself to breathe through your diaphragm with an exercise like this does several things: - Increases oxygen during exercise
- Improves posture
- Can reduce anxiety and panic

Try this simple breathing exercise out today. My main tip is don’t breathe too fast! Breathe in for 5 seconds then out for 7 to start. The increase of oxygen may feel a little weird off the bat but over the exercise those sensations will go away. 
Start easy and do this for 3 min before bed!

  • When I'm putting together workouts, I often fall into the trap of thinking a workout needs to contain tons of different exercises in order to "count" or be effective. That's not really true, though, and this quick, beginner-friendly, full-body kettlebell workout is the perfect example.

I’ve done the workouts and bought the expensive meal plans and supplements and tried to do it all on my own. And it worked!...... for about a week.... Why? Because I didn’t have that consistent accountability to keep that initial motivation going! So when the hype began to wear off, a few days off from workouts or a cheat meal here and there quickly spiraled into completely derailing myself. Who else knows this feeling🙋🏽‍♀️???

Now, here I am with the craziest schedule I’ve ever had, constantly traveling, military training, still working part time, and motivated as EVER because I know I have an amazing team of coaches + clients that show up and motivate each other even when we are miles apart!! #accountabilityAF!!!! -

  • You guys!!!! I am so sore from this workout yesterday 😆😆 I try and incorporate bodyweight exercises on weekends that I need to practice (pushups, pullups, tricep dips) This workout completely fatigued my muscles. 
My entire body is sore...still feeling my legs from Friday night as well 😂 but tonight I need to hit glutes again.

Buy that bootleg version of the nutrition program. It’s legit, right?! You totally don’t need support from girls going through the exact same thing as you! People do so much better when they close themselves off and if you struggle with motivation, I bet Pinterest has tips-everybody loooves a super motivation post! It always does the trick!

Studies prove weight loss programs that involve a third party of like-minded people, not only helps hold you accountable, but it helps you stay motivated & STICK to your goals! But what do you actually DO in these groups??? No matter if you’re brand new to working out, a fitness fanatic, or never prepped a meal in your life these groups are there to offer tools to help you! All you have to do is be an active participant! As you’re following the guide from your coach, the group will be there celebrating your successes & helping pick you up when you’ve stumbled! Your job??? Be yourself, open & willing to make friends! I mean really... people meet their spouses over the internet, so trust me you can find great friends!

People also create 6 & 7 figure businesses online too! A lot sweeter than that 2% commission you’re dying to get from that “influencer” program, right!? Build you’re own brand & be an influencer that makes 40-60% commission. THEN, with help from us build a team so that one day you wont have to ever “work” again! All for truly HELPING people!!! Growing up I was always very competitive and probably a little bit of an over achiever ( where are all my Type A peeps at lol🙋🏽‍♀️). And that got me pretty far in life!But it also caused me to only stick with what I knew or what I was comfortable with because I never wanted to look dumb or be embarrassed by failing.

So when I found this coaching opportunity, I immediately told myself all the reasons why it could NEVER work. I came up with so many excuses!!!👉🏼 that I was too busy, that I didn’t have the money, that I needed to work on myself first, that it was a pyramid scheme! aka- what i was REALLY saying to myself was “I don’t know if I’ll be successful so I’m scared to even start, SO im going to blame it on any excuse that sounds reasonable”

But instead, here I am getting to help change lives, all while traveling, getting in the best shape of my life, & creating a lifestyle by design that one day will allow me to live the lifestyle I want, retire myself from my current part time job & the military, and work this business from wherever I want: whether it’s a cute coffee shop on an exotic island🌴 or my kitchen table with my future family🏡 The future is ours to design! but if the lifestyle you’re currently living and job your working isn’t supporting the future you want , than NOW is the time to do something to change that!

  • #flashbackfriday ❤️ This time last year we were staging our first home to go on the market.... Someone actually asked me the other day if I missed our old house, and it got me thinking...
.
There’s always going to be things I miss like the memories we made there and having family in the same state. But what I love most about our decisions to have Travis leave his career, sell our house, and move out of state; is that we did it on faith. I can remember second guessing our decision countless times, but God laid something on our hearts, closed some doors, opened other doors, and we acted on it.
.
And honestly what I’ve learned in all of this is God wants you to be happy! He wants you to enjoy life, and share precious moments with your loved ones. He doesn’t expect you to just go through the motions of life because that’s what society expects us to do. Life is far too short and precious to not enjoy it.
.
So at the time when we were wondering how this would all pan out, and people were telling us it was a stupid decision... God knew. He knew what was in the cards for us... and now here we are... almost a year later... and I’m so glad I trusted in the uncertainty. Because unlike any plan I’ve ever tried to create for our life... He surpasses all my expectations. 👏🏼

  • I don’t workout while I’m traveling because I have to…. I workout because I GET to. 💪🏼

I know I am the BEST version of myself when I honor my body with movement and show up for MYSELF before the craziness of the day begins.

- “I don’t have the time/ I don’t have the space to workout at home/ Im just too busy” 🛑 Excuses I hear all the time….. Babes, lets be honest…. 20minute workout-no equipment required..... It’s not that you don’t have time or space or whatever other excuse, you fill in the blank_____ 😉 , its that its not a priority👉🏼lets ditch the excuses and start getting results!

  • There’s nothing quite like a nice shoulder boulder pump am I rite????😈 Lately I’ve been adding in some shoulders before I hit legs and I’m loving it💪🏼 This workout requires minimal equipment so you have no excuses! Bookmark this and give it a try!

HIIT. High intensity interval training. I’m sure you’ve heard that HIIT is a great thing to do to lose weight, but what actually is it??

HIIT is a form of interval training that alternates short periods of intense activity with less intense recovery periods
.
Why should I do HIIT??
HIIT is a great way to get your heart rate up and is good for your overall health. It also takes much less time that traditional cardio (such as jogging on the treadmill) which is why it is so popular. If you are looking to lose fat and spend minimal amounts of time in the gym then HIIT is for you!!

How often should I do HIIT??
It is recommended to do HIIT 2-3 times a week, with a break of at least 24 hours between each session to allow for recovery and prevent injuries during performance. Each session can last anywhere from 10-25 minutes

How do I do a HIIT workout??
You can do HIIT in a number of different ways, including on the treadmill, bike, swimming or even just your body weight. For all of these, you will spend 10-60 seconds doing the exercise at the highest intensity you can (basically go all out for this short burst). Then you will follow that with 20-60 seconds of rest or active rest (a less intense form of the exercise). You can then repeat this cycle again and again for up to 25 minutes until you can give no more. Need more inspiration?? I will definitely post lots of HIIT workouts during the summer for you to try out!!

Holy smokes. I cannot move my arms today. I forgot how much i LOVE the smith machine for training upper body. TUT (time under tension) is when your muscles are under constant strain throughout a set and engaged throughout the entire movement. You can also achieve TUT by using the cable machine. ⁣

Complete each exercise for 10 reps then repeat the circuit 4 times! 🔥⁣
