Motivation is out the window for me most days. I rely heavily on my goals to get my butt up and go. I rely on the results I strive for. I rely on holding myself accountable especially when I have clients I have to hold accountable as well. “Practice what you preach” right?!!!⁣⁣

I know it’s hard. But looking in the mirror and not liking who you are or feeling like crap after fast food is even harder. There’s absolutely NO EXCUSE in the world as to why you can prioritize yourself and your health to come first. Without a healthy you, you don’t have a healthy life. ⁣⁣
We all get the same 24 hours in a day. We may not all get the same hours of rest but this is the life we chose (every decision has led us to today).⁣⁣
Make your days count. Make you count. Nobody else is getting up for you so get up for yourself!⁣⁣

  • ♻️TWO YEAR TWIST AND TURN WORKOUT♻️
Turn things up a bit and add some rotation...

Marking the two year anniversary of this Instagram fitness page, we continue the original moves workout series. Here’s four moves from the first week or so of this account moves that show the kind of circuits I like to put together. I refilmed these the other day and they went together really nicely as a stand-alone workout. 
1️⃣ Squatting Alternating Press
- Stay low, leave one weight on the ground, straighten the downside arm and open up the torso. Use a lighter weight. 
2️⃣ Alternating Rope Power Pull
- Add a step and pull tight to the body with the back. Think of driving the top elbow back firmly. 
3️⃣ Tumbleweed Pushups
- Here’s a progressive speed set back and forth. It I like to do these with more room for more reps each direction. 
4️⃣ Bulgarian Split Squats*
- A great reset after all the twists and turns of the previous three moves. *aka Rear Foot Elevated Split Squats.

  • is this seriously my first time EVER doing a #workoutwednesday post? 🏋️‍♀️😳 well ya know what they say, better late than never! although if i’m being completely honest, this photo was taken at the gym on monday...everything in moderation, am i right? 😉
.
but the real reason i’m sharing this post today? it’s cause for the first time, in a picture related to exercise and working out, i see a genuine smile on my face. for years, exercise felt like purgatory. i forced myself to run no matter how much i didn’t want to, and would go to bed already dreading the next days 5-miler.
.
this, my friends, is called exercise addiction.  i told myself i was being ‘healthy’. i told myself it was ‘stress relief’. but not only was i lying to everyone around me, i was lying to myself. those were simply excuses to justify my extremely UNHEALTHY behaviors. i was exhausted both mentally and physically,
and working out felt like the biggest torture in the world. yet still, i couldn’t stop.
.
but the beautiful thing is, this didn’t last forever. i was afraid i would never be able to enjoy working out again, but how i feel about it right now is proof of just the opposite! working out makes me feel strong, it brings me joy, and makes me feel so grateful for this healthy body i worked SO hard for. it’s also given me community. i’ve met so many amazing people through my gym, and my weekly BodyPump and BodyAttack classes are the highlights of my week!

moral of the story? if you work hard for something, you will achieve it. today, i’m so proud to say i’ve achieved a healthy relationship with exercise. what are you proud of today? 💗 #simplybalancedliv

  • A GYM ROUTINE FOR YOU!

Happy #WorkoutWednesday, Fam! In light of this glorious day, let me share a split training routine for you that can help get you started if you're interested in body building. Split routines are often used by us bodybuilders to help ensure all muscle groups are isolated, and targeted equally... and helps you to sculpt your body the way you desire!

Day 1 - Arms
Day 2 - Legs & Glutes
Day 3 - Shoulders & Core
Day 4 - Back
Day 5 - Activity of choice

For each muscle group, aim for 3 exercises and 10-15 reps each. I couple each training day with 10,000 steps - sometimes that looks like traditional cardio, sometimes that looks like a long walk on the beach... i just use the steps to ensure I move my body!

A variation of split training has been my approach for years! Doesn't have to be overly complicated, just consitent. Then, you are sure to build the strong curvy physique you've been desiring ❤️

  • Workouts under the moonlight! Making that final push as I inch closer to taper. All that hay is almost in that barn!😜🤘🏽 30 minutes of threshold work this morning = perfection. My favorite type of workout!

It’s hard for me to find motivation to workout as we move closer towards winter. My instinct to hibernate, stay in pajamas, and eat an excess amount of (vegan) cheese is too real. 😬 I’m doubling up on hiit classes early tomorrow morning so this weekend I can stay in, order tons of food, and relax! 🍁💁🏼‍♀️🌥⁣

Mi respuesta siempre es que debemos hacer una mezcla de ambos tanto ejercicios cardiovasculares y entrenamiento de tonificación.

En @jumpclubpty me gusta ir variando los entrenamientos, las sesiones de cardio donde saltamos desde 30, 35 a 40 min al ritmo de la música; aunque estemos haciendo cardio estamos tonificando full las piernas, booty especialmente y abs para tener el equilibrio en las botas. Estas clases siempre terminan con ejercicios de tonificación muscular de 30 a 20 min.

También hacemos sesiones de intervals 5 min cardio con los #KangooJumps y 5 min de ejercicios de tonificación muscular eso lo repetimos 3 a 4 veces; las botas pesan 4 kilos así que funcionan como unos #ankleweights para tonificar todo el cuerpo. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Me gusta ir variando los entrenamientos ya que las actividades deportivas que el cuerpo mas quema son las que no está acostumbrado a hacer.

Pienso que no deberíamos centrarnos en solo ejercicios de cardio o solo en entrenamiento de tonificación muscular, sino en una mezcla de ambos.

Con el cardio quemarás calorías durante el entrenamiento y con los entrenamiento de tonificación muscular después, en reposo y durante el resto del día.

Así que dejemos las excusas a un lado, para que los entrenamientos funciones debemos hacerlos de forma constante combinando ambos tanto cardio y de tonificación muscular; ir course junto con una alimentación saludable😜

I know, it’s not as exciting as finding a program with the title: “The Ultimate Routine Thats Guaranteed to Get You The Body You’ve Always Wanted”. But, that doesn’t really exist, and if it does it’s a bunch of 💩.⁣

@cynthia_nugent01 program has been designed around her goals and exercises she enjoys doing, that’s it. As long as she sticks to it, she will get results. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it will work as long as she does.⁣

Mi respuesta siempre es que debemos hacer una mezcla de ambos tanto ejercicios cardiovasculares y entrenamiento de tonificación.

En @jumpclubpty me gusta ir variando los entrenamientos, las sesiones de cardio donde saltamos desde 30, 35 a 40 min al ritmo de la música; aunque estemos haciendo cardio estamos tonificando full las piernas, booty especialmente y abs para tener el equilibrio en las botas. Estas clases siempre terminan con ejercicios de tonificación muscular de 30 a 20 min.

También hacemos sesiones de intervals 5 min cardio con los #KangooJumps y 5 min de ejercicios de tonificación muscular eso lo repetimos 3 a 4 veces; las botas pesan 4 kilos así que funcionan como unos #ankleweights para tonificar todo el cuerpo. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Struggling with body weight pushups? Well, lemme tell you. I never entertain a pushup with knees on the ground... ever. Not for girls OR guys. Why? We are putting the body in a completely different position when we put the knees down. What do we need to work on to build to the body weight pushup?

▫️SHOULDER MOBILITY / STABILITY
▫️GLUTE/ QUAD ACTIVATION

How does putting our knees down help? It does not. Our core actually becomes less engaged in this case.

SWIPE TO SEE MY ELEVATED PUSHUP VARIATIONS. Move the bar down to progress the exercise. .
Keep your body in a plank position, focus on squeezing the core, glutes and quads. Now, set yourself up at the top of a bar, box, table, couch, chair (if you’re at home). If an elevated surface is still too hard, try pushing up from the wall.

There you have it!!! 💪🏼😊🥰 don’t give up on that pushup goal.

  • Messing around the other day with some hand work while working some curls on the opposite side.  All the time we grip things and use our fingers in a flexed motion

Threw in some isometric extension holds with the bands to work on strengthening the opposing motion🤲

Here is a small snippet of my workout today. My workouts are never perfect. I frequently have to stop to help a one year old, let my dog out, or today, tend to a sick child. BUT I did finish it all and it feels so good. And a little real life for you, very messy living room 🤦‍♀️ When your workout is called Total Body Badass, you put on your favorite leggings, tank, and bra and bust it out 💪 I get SO many compliments when I wear these leggings and they are one of my favorites! Everyone is always bummed when they miss out on these! I am hoping they make a comeback this fall 🤞
