On saying 'No'
In my experience, the opportunities that come with saying 'yes' to things are numerous and for the most part highly rewarding. Every time I say 'yes' to something, I more or less step outside of my comfortable world and learn. This practice has been very beneficial for me.
At the same time personal growth and deeper understanding that come with learning to say 'No' are of immense value, too.
Thoughtful "no's" create space for more rewarding "yes's". The beauty of a well-weighed "no" lies in the balance and harmony it creates. It sets boundaries, presents a clear picture of what YOU want. I am repeating myself, but for a content well-being one absolutely needs to understand what makes them work, tick, enjoy life, be happy, be calm, etc (as well as do the opposite). We are our own explorers and doctors, no one has a capacity to understand our needs and desires better than we can learn to do it ourselves. The next useful thing we can do for ourselves and others is learn to communicate this by confidently agreeing or disagreeing. The feelings that may arise with saying 'no' are doubt, regret, guilt, apathy as well as obsessing over different potential outcomes.
This is easily remedied when one learns to possess peace of mind and self-knowledge, be sure that whatever decision it is, it is ethical towards fellow human beings and oneself, be confident not just in common sense but intuition. It is probably the most difficult part, but it can be achieved.
The energy we give, we should receive. Over-giving without the true desire to do so creates exhaustion, bitterness, disappointment and may even lead to depression (on the other hand, if one is 'under-giving' and feeling guilty, stop, and learn to give some more! ;-). Every day I realise how important it is to know our own desires, undersrand our potential, set boundaries and remember that there will be no "Yes's" without "No's"! Here’s “Tomatoes and Crab” a course from last night. We wanted this to dish to be very light but pack a ton of flavor, which it did. First the large tomatoes are seasoned and marinated in extra virgin olive oil. The small tomatoes are sliced and dressed with white balsamic and oil. The super lump crab is sprinkled with sea salt and lemon juice. We prepare a scratch traditional French dressing and rémoulade sauce. Finally we fry some capers and stack it all together. 💥
It’s an explosion of flavors and textures and yet it’s still a light and very approachable dish. #yum •
Ps. Did I put a little too much dressing on the bottom? Honestly....no way. Fresh crab🦀 + fresh dressing = mouth heaven.

#tb to June 1st of 2019. First ever international comp! Really excited to get back on stage. Even though there’s a decent amount of time left until I prep again, it’s always nice to look back 😁. I’m also rocking the dirty & baggy tanning clothes 😎

Hope many of us have read the word added 'Chicory' on the label
Chicory is not coffee. Nor does it come from a coffee bean. It is a root of the chicory plant, roasted and ground to substitute for or adulterate coffee.
Chicory costs only one fourth the price of arabica coffee and does not contain any caffeine. Chicory only mimics a bitter coffee taste. Roasted chicory contains none of the volatile oils and aromatics that are contained in roasted coffee.
