The mantle of heavy, dark and letharactic winter has been stripped off and there is an exciting time of new beginning and abundance before us.   • A variety of smooth transitions makes my practice feel flowy and playful. 
I’m a total “safety first” type of person when it comes to bodily progressions (Virgo moon). I’m happy to progress slowly and steadily. In all board sports and out door activities as well as my asana practice I want to make sure my body is fully capable, that it isn’t being compromised, unsymmetrical or forgotten due to the egos willingness to show off.

Safety first. Try small, check in with your self, if all is good: proceed etc.

For this transition I made sure I’d mastered Sphinx pose, cobra pose, camel pose, bow pose and wheel pose on their own. Correctly. 
Before a deeper back bend, I start with at least six rounds of traditional Hatha sun or moon salutations to warm up, and finish off with first at least one deep forward fold and then twist to realign the spine.

I stopped everything but yoga for a while to gain my flexibility but eventually added more back in. I really resonated with @yogawithdanny post the other day. When I only had a daily yoga practice I didn't feel myself. I think it's so important to find a pattern that works for you. Mine fluctuates somewhat - if I'm tired, I chill! But here's an example week this month (working out with friends makes it sa fun):⁣

When my phone was sneakily snatched from my pocket the day before I was due to fly on holiday, I decided to take it as a "sign" from the universe, an omen, that I was not meant to have a phone whilst on this trip. I was meant to switch off and switch out!

It was a little uncomfortable at first, I felt a little lost, a little out of touch, but I tell you something, you see things clearer when your not always reaching for your phone to take a picture of something or someone you think is beautiful / worrying about work / friends or making sure you post the best photos for social media.

You can see, you can smell, you can listen, you can taste, you can feel everything a little clearer, a little deeper.

You become more present, as you have no other option but to truly take it all in.

You sleep better

You actually rest

You have to allow yourself to enjoy where you are, without any distractions.

I believe it necessary to detox from all areas of life that take us away from the present moment

I think it's important to disconnect from online nonsense and break back to reality, to the real time magic.

It's been a journey that I am grateful to have been forced to go on. If my phone had not been snatched, you would have probably seen a lot more of me on here this past week, but I may have not seen as much as I have.

I love a photo (as you all know) and I'm forever grateful for all the memories, all the snaps, the beauty and artistry of imagery that capture moments as they are meant to be and sometimes capturing more.

I am grateful for losing my phone and for being allowed to truly fully enjoy this trip with my family, sipping and savouring every moment and allowing others to do the snapping.

Thank you for this trip, for my family, for this journey.

It's been our first family holiday in over 8 years and I'm soo full of food, sea air, wine, sunbeams, love and a whole lot of gratitude!

I am truly blessed - thank you

During today’s asana lab at #teachertraining we focused on twisting postures from the one everybody wants to skip (i’m looking at you revolved triangle) to the one we all love like this simple twist
You can debate whether these postures have any detox effect (check @doctoryogi81 on this) or whether we should respect the « proper alignment »
Or you can just enjoy the flow and what it does to your body and your mind
